Computer problems

I'm having a ton of problems with my Windows 10 laptop. Including:
-Blue Screen of Death once a month
-Sometimes has huge lag spikes, even Ctrl-Alt-Delete is severely delayed
-The fan is sometimes loud and high pitched
-Sometimes it's hot to the touch, especially under the WASD keys, even if all the fans are on full blast
-Event logs in the Event Viewer frequently say things like "The description for Event ID 3 from source iBtSiva cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer."
-Recently the command prompt has been randomly opening for a split second, interrupting whatever I'm doing, and immediately closing itself (I think a deletion is in order here). At the same time the SPP and Software Protection Service have started running unnecessary licensing checks on 0ff1ce15-a989-479d-af46-f275c6370663, which according to a Google search is apparently Outlook, which is not installed on the computer. It also says 55c92734-d682-4d71-983e-d6ec3f16059f, which I can't find anywhere.
A typical sequence goes:
Quote
The Software Protection service is starting.
Parameters:caller=OfficeC2RClient.exe

Quote
Initialization status for service objects.
(various dlls)

Quote
The Software Protection service has completed licensing status check.
Application Id=55c92734-d682-4d71-983e-d6ec3f16059f
Licensing Status=
(stuff)

Quote
The Software Protection service has started.

Quote
Successfully scheduled Software Protection service for re-start at (random time approximately 1199 months from now). Reason: RulesEngine.

Quote

Should I just throw out this computer and buy a new one?

Your computer isn't the problem, Windows 10 is. Seems like some sort of strange conflict with Office 365, in which you could check it's installed, and then try to uninstall it. Otherwise:

Try reinstalling Windows 10, providing the computer already came with Windows 10 (in which case the motherboard probably has an inbuilt key, so activation will be instant) or you have your product key that you purchased.

Not that Windows 10 is any good by any standards, and that I'd highly recommend Linux Mint over it.
My Office version is Office 2016, and I installed it intentionally.

And it appears it's likely an infection by FUB_Send.bat, whatever the hell that is. The only info I can find about it are problems like mine. I don't even have a "C:\Program Files\DriverSetupUtility\" or whatever, my PC is by MSI (Specifically a "GE 62 2QE Apache Pro" on the label)

I guess a permanent switch to Linux Mint is in order, then...

EDIT: I just measured the times of the popups and found a consistent pattern: The license validation happens every 30 minutes, specifically at X:08 and X:38, the seconds value seems to vary, but the minutes are consistent. The Software Protection Service stops exactly 30 seconds later. And the Command popup is at X:44, possibly give or take. Don't know if it helps any, but it shows there at least appears to be breaking in a very consistent pattern.

Also, all of this occurs in less than a second and "sppobjs.dll" comes up a lot, 8 times per run, in fact. According to a Google search, sppobjs.dll is apparently a file related to system validation, so maybe my OS is corrupt? They wiped the C drive but not the D drive (And the last time they did that, after installing anything it would say the OS was absent or something to that effect on trying to start...)

EDIT2: Looking at older events it's not actually X:08 and X:38 all the time, just this time. But there must still be some form of consistency there...

EDIT3: The validations may be complete random after all...

Unfortunately Office 2016 doesn't work on WINE, but Office 2013 does, and the codebase for Office 2013/2016 are pretty similar iirc. Just thought I'd point that out for you if you're switching to mint.

Though I'm reading stuff from 5 month ago so it might have changed https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/5je0ow/wine_office_2016/
Strangely, about a minute before the cmd popup two instances of "Updated Trend Micro Maximum Security status successfully to SECURITY_PRODUCT_STATE_ON." appear in the event viewer, and all previous instances of this particular event at X:43:14 (yes, it's that specific) are deleted, so the popup might be my antivirus... When was Trend last updated? This started on Saturday (Friday in the US because of time zones...)
EDIT: Or maybe not? The popup at X:44 appears to be the only thing that's consistent... Right, into the trash this goes, I guess...

EDIT2: Narrowed the time down even further thanks to Pony Girl: Roughly X:44:20 to X:44:25

EDIT3: Will need further confirmation, but just now at the exact frame cmd popped up the Software Protection Service under the "Services" tab of the Task Manager went from "Stopped" to "Running", and shortly beforehand a few other services initiated. These are my best bets.

Found the culprit: officebackgroundtaskhandler, whatever that is.
