Facedesk!

Kaizo

Don't mind this post either.

...Right. I might have been exaggerating a bit on that whole thing of "imitating" a style, and I'll think some more about that decision, since I still feel conflicted, one of the reasons why this hack has been on limbo for long. #ab{:S}

Unless you feel that mentally drained by this hack, I suggest to just take as long as you need to and design the stage little by little; don't worry too much about having the stage completed.

Although I agree that shorter stages are more fun and quick to design and play through. The thing with creating long and intricate stages is you only have so much mental capacity to put into them.
After some further thinking, I decided I'd get back on working with this hack and finish it for once. I'll just take a break every once and while to not have that feeling again and think of cool obstacles to implement (not to mention that I'm really eager to work on the final level); it might be worth a try. Anyway, those are hopefully the last screenshots of the eighth level before the video.

Notice the disco shell at the top, you'll need it.

That shell is needed for later.
It's not really impossible to perform, just a bit harder to do.

Did you finish this level? I would see this

No, I'm not finished with it yet. I'll let you know when a video comes up.

Stage 8. I can safely say that this hack is finally back from the dead, now that I managed to fix the music bug I've been having multiple issues with.

yay
Shell stages are always my favorites, and this one didn't disappoint. I especially like the parts at 2:00 and 3:41.
Excited to see what you make for the final stage.
Nice to see that they still continue to work on Facedesk.
Stage 8 was very nice but a bit too short.

I'm looking forward to the final stage
Can people not just fly through the level?
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.

Oooh look at my userbar!

Thanks for the feedback, peeps! :)

Yeah, I realized that. I didn't want to make it ridiculously long like other stages of this hack did, and from what we've seen, I've achieved that.

Not that I know of, as there are two Yoshis in this level. If you mean the second room, then there's no easy way to do it, unless you somehow get the Yoshi that spawned from the first question block you find off the death block and use one of the disco shells to fly through that room, on which case there are invisible note blocks underneath which disallow any sort of break. You could elaborate more if that's not what you're talking about.

I was thinking that people might go left at 0:37, feeding Baby Yoshi the bouncing rock as the fifth sprite instead of the disco shell. I'm not sure if this works, and it can be stopped with lots of invisible coin blocks if it does.

No, it's not possible to feed baby Yoshi the bouncing rock this way, as you can't do it without dying all the time or the aid of a powerup.

This hack is back. I ended up losing everything once again, but this time I managed to remake Oh Shell No.
And now I'm motivated to finish it once and for all.

Some sort of preview from the last level. This is one of the very first rooms.

It´s cool to see you working on this again.

This hack surely knows how to torture the player, but still is decently designed so I´m very interested what you final stage gonna be like #w{=3}

It wasn't really good to anyone when you abandoned this hack. Although glad it's back and the progress is here again! Good job
I have a Discord server as well! (by joining, you agree to the rules)

Basically, I believe in peace and bashing two bricks together.

Just to let you know I'm still working on this

This is yet another snippet from the last level.
I don't think it will delay much before I release the video and eventually the hack itself.

e: covered it in spoilers

That screenshot is kinda vague but I'm excited to see FaceDesk finally get finished.
I am so hyped and looking forward to the final stage

It has been 3.000 years...

No seriously, as long as you make outstanding stages like this, take your time, no matter how long you need. The result is, what counts and it is really amazing in this case.

I would like to say "i especially like..." but anything from the dino rhino part on fascinated me. I think i can see some inspirations from Mario Must Die and Cool or Cruel, but that's nothing bad either. Only thing i dislike a bit is the music used in the castle, but tastes vary, i guess.

Congrats for eventually finishing this stage! #smw{:TUP:}
