Abandon the ADSR thread?

Personally, I think the sticked ADSR thread should be abandoned for these following reasons:

1. These ADSR values can be made easily with the latest porting technology. With our advanced BRR Player and AddMusicK, you can try and discover a nice ADSR value for your needs easily.

2. It give people a wrong feeling about ADSR is kind of magic that made realistic instruments.

3. I heard a lot of ports used ADSR values from the thread sounds pretty dull. Yeah, something like @1 $FA $E0 $B8 $03 $00 give people a feeling of actual strings ensemble instruments, but the release rate 0 is not works in many case. I world prefer people discover whatever use different ADSR values as well as other tweaks on a unsampled port, so they may get improve quickly.

What do you think? If you think my option is not that good, please tell me.
1. Yeah, I can understand that, but many beginners may not know about that technology or know how to do it well, but some experts may go on that route instead.

2. ADSR really doesn't do it realistically perfect, but pitch modulation and echo can be a thing for that instead.

3. Yeah, but I feel like some need updating instead in my opinion, like for example.

Stronger marimba: $CF $E8 $B8 $03 $00

Stronger marimba: $9F $48 $B8 $03 $00

My last opinion of this is probably best off is to update some of the ADSR instruments. It's pretty much up to them, really. If the ADSR instruments get updated, it might be helpful for those who don't know how to do it. That is just my opinion really.

When I started learning AddmusicK, ADSR was one of the obstacles that I just couldn't figure out. I went to the ADSR thread but I was more confused than ever because I didn't know why those values worked. Eventually, through experimentation I did learn and haven't really gone back to the thread.

I don't think this is really indicative of what I think of the thread, however, because my path and mindset to discovering and learning AddmusicK isn't exactly routine. I basically did it for the music aspect alone and was willing to spend as much time as necessary with things I found difficult. I can, though, understand where people who want to get things done quickly or who do not have the patience or expertise to sit down and independently work things out are coming from. I can't speak about how helpful the ADSR thread is for that purpose, or how good certain ADSR envelopes are. Because it's a sticky thread, it never bothers me so I am pretty much indifferent to what happens to it. Just offering my own experiences :)

I think we can only really decide what happens to it when we hear from experts and novices alike about what they think of the ADSR thread.
Make more of less, that way you won't make less of more!
I guess this is biased since I made the thread, but I find it useful to quickly get values I need. Say I'm looking for good square waves; I go to the thread, CTRL + F "square wave", bam. If the majority wants it unstickied, though, that's fine. But I'm curious to see what more people think.
I've never seen much use for it. Of course this is coming from someone who knows ADSR in and out. I cant speak for anyone who is new to custom music.

Obviously that's no use for experienced porters, but I don't think it's useless. I admit I never used it myself, but having something which keeps tracks of potentially good ADSR would be handy, especially to those who are just beginning learning ADSR.

the idea is to encourage beginners to BECOME experts. that's what tutorials are for. that's what this forum is for. the adsr thread doesn't help accomplish that, it's for people who don't want to invest the time and effort to learn it for themselves, which there is a LOT of information that helps you out with that.

both of which are more complicated subjects, are often just as ill-explained, and don't have example threads, so...
