Does anyone else get inspiration from other Non-Mario games?

Sometimes I get inspiration for level design from other platformer games like DKC1-3. Does anyone else find ideas from other games?
I'm getting level and story ideas for my hack from Final Fantasy 4 and the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series.

Click the character on the right side of my layout to visit my Discord server and discuss and play and look at and get updates and sneak peeks of the games and other things I'm making.

The authors of these 2 My Little Pony fan games have removed their games from the Internet.
Rise of the Clockwork Stallions has been updated! Download My Little Pony: Rise of the Clockwork Stallions DX: Director's Cut and My Little Pony: Magic Shards now! Spread this link!

2D Mario is like the most uninteresting platform series imo (especially post-Land 2) so I tend to get boss, gimmick and level design ideas from other platformers like Kirby (also the VIPs and the JUMP crew's stages)

Also some non-platformers if I find anything I can recreate in a 2D platformer context without it being absolute garbage to play with lol

Wario Land, Super Princess Peach and Yoshi's Island (SNES and DS) are exempt from this tho <3

I'd actually like to comb through PS1 and Saturn 2D platformers sometime for ideas for ASM coding exercises tbh
Not enough post-SNES inspired gimmicks on here

Obviously Zelda series.

inspiration can come from anywhere. even from things that are not even games.
