looking for a hack where coins actually are usefull

like a shop system or a power up system. i just never really go after coins cause they only give 1ups and i use savestates at the end of every level and usually at the midway point because i dont want to gameover.
so a hack where you can buy special powerups or just regular powerups
(or a hack where special powerups exist) would be really nice. pls hand them to me <3
I always come back - W. Afton

pm me if you need someone to test your hack (easy - kaizo light), i'd love to help out and break it <3
please let me know some infos about your hack (exit amount, difficulty you aimed for, any special patches used like walljumping etc)

I think this one has a shop system.
An SMW Central Production

After seeing some videos about it I'm 100% sure you can purchase some things, like powerups or lives.
I have a Discord server as well! (by joining, you agree to the rules)

Ones with lives.
Oh, I'm all about making objects more useful and tweaking SMW gameplay to make it more rewarding to the player. My hack does two things with coins (which are spinning watches). First, being watches, collecting them increases your timer. Rarely, you have levels where the timer begins at 0 and you don't want to collect any coins, as they become a hazard. Secondly, it uses a modified version of the 100 Coin Roulette patch, giving you a random powerup or an extra health point (it has a health system utilizing 1UPs, also making those a lot more useful to the player). There are also hazards which rob watches from you (clocks spinning quickly backwards) or speed up the timer when you are in contact (clocks spinning quickly forwards). In some levels, health and powerups are rare, and collecting watches becomes your primary source of these. Dragon coins appear as food items, which have the same functions as in vanilla SMW, while also adding 20 seconds and 20 watches to your totals.

In other words, coins are integral to the gameplay, rather than a pointless collectible gifting you a pointless reward.

Chapter Two: Land of No Shame
I plan to implement a shop system in one of my future hacks. Collecting 100 coins would not give the player a 1-up, but the player would be able to carry up to 999 coins. In the shop, the player can pay 25 coins for a Mushroom, 50 coins for other powerups (Fire Flower, Feather, etc.), and 100 coins for a 1-up. So the player can still exchange 100 coins for a 1-up, but you have to enter a shop to do it.
Hi kaitri,
T-Jonny here. If you want something with difficulty, use for coins and lots lots of love, try this classic SMW Hack:

You can pretty easily implement that with UberASM or blocks.

Super Mario LD did something super similar to what you described with what seemed to be LevelASM, just without the 999 coin carry... Which made its 80 coins for a 1UP option kinda pointless, along with the life farm bonus in ふつうのアスレチック.

And of course there's JUMP's Dragon Coin shops and the shop blocks we have on the site.
