I only use Twitter to check up on what's happening with a few people. I would post more about my own life but it's pretty boring so it mostly just stays there empty. Although Twitter sucks for any meaningful conversation or discussion, almost everyone has a Twitter account, so if you ever need to quickly talk to someone I guess it's kinda useful.
I rarely, if ever use Tumblr. Not saying it's a bad place, I just don't use it all that much. I also recommend limited exposure to 4chan/8chan, if any. For talking to IRL friends, I just go ahead and talk to them in person or use an instant messaging app like WhatsApp.
I check some subreddits occasionally. Some places, specially the more popular ones, can easily develop into chaos from just a random comment, but the more chill places are nice.

Instead of going to r/politics, get your news from a more reputable source and talk about them in r/politicaldiscussion.
Very yes, I agree.
