Hey, have you ever wanted to have your custom bosses trigger Castle End Sequences, and the End Game sequence? Well... I've discovered how said End Sequences work. Sorta. I don't know the code behind them, but I can safely say I know how to make them trigger with ANY sprite. All you really need is the Level Ender sprite from Sprite Tool. Seriously.
Now... Here's the thing. Yes, the Boss Level Modes are there so bosses like Reznor, Bowser, and most of the Koopalings can work. But did you know that they play a more important role? They are all you need to trigger a castle end sequence. NO. LIE. Try it. Place Level Ender on a level with a Boss Level Level Mode. Upon entering the level, you will most likely view garbage, if you placed any tiles on the screen. Ignore this stuff, as you're running a test. You will also have the level end, if you placed the sprite on the starting screen. If you set up the Castle End Sequences correct for your test level, you should see said Sequence come up after the level is over. If not, you seriously did something wrong...
As for how I stumbled upon this... It was during a playthrough of VIP & Wall Mix 3, also known as VIP Mario 3. I got all the way to the final boss (seriously), and realized that it was a custom boss....YET IT STILL TRIGGERED THE END GAME SEQUENCE. This made me wonder about the level mode... I did a few tests, and my suspicions were confirmed. So there. Enjoy this amazing knowledge, guys. (Also, if you're wanting to know how to pass that level "SACRIFICE", PM me. I know how.)
Edit: Hang on a second... There's one thing I forgot... Wendy, Lemmy, and Reznor can all be used outside of the Boss Level level modes... The former two always on normal level modes, the latter normally used in a Boss Level mode. Hmm... More research needs to be done...
