This thread is just a notice of a hack by me that is very close to being released. I have a few crappy screens.
 
Would you like to play these two levels?
You don't need to be a genius to figure this out.
My crappy overworld. I dunno why I got rid of the waves. You might not notice what's wrong with the circled part of the picture. It's slightly shaded blue. It was a lot clearer in MS Paint. The '?' island is also pointless.
By the way, I don't know how to make my own events.
Pretty bad, huh?

That's the thing people usually hate the most. Straight forward design, linearity.

This is the first hack I've ever made so I don't really know how to make a good overworld.
EDIT: I think I only have 1 or 2 linear LEVELS but the Pointless Level is one of them.

Read one of our many tutorials. Oh and you don't name levels "pointless level", "space filler".

I'll replace the Pointless Level and remove the Space Filling Level.

Hey its better than what I can do... wait that was 6 months ago...
Also, umm your gray cement blocks look to square if you know what i mean.. Try to change them or make them less square(on the corners)

Or just change 'em to SMB3 wooden blocks, those look so much nicer. ^^

I like 'em square. =( I don't know about anybody else, though. If more than just 1 person doesn't like them, I'll change it. My problem is I don't know where it is in YY-CHR.
EDIT: Boing, are you saying you don't like them either?

Yes, and I believe they are in GFX14. Personally, I hate the SMW cement blocks altogether,.

They are right under the vertical pipe. Its cut in half.

They're more the shape of turn blocks now...They don't look good when there are heaps together...
EDIT: Here's a piccy.
EDIT2: I changed the colours of the border a while ago. Just never showed it.

Correction, the only time the cement blocks look good in this game is the star road 4 level. Or with the star background.

Umm, the green boarder is a little off setting but its ok. Just to much green hurts/
