Sorry to combo break or whatever you call it, but these secrets might be good for players who get all of the required stuff first and then go back to the other levels to get the secrets. They've pretty much mastered the hack or SMW mechanic by then.

428: Copy level design idea's from other hacks but don't completely steal them, add a mix in.

Unless you are the best MSPaint drawer that still looks awful when you transfer it to YY-CHR.
Except you draw them in MSPaint like me and transfer them to YY-CHR correctly, emphasis on correctly and don't give people the advice not to do it.

430 - If you are going to do a long maze, make sure to put enough time or make the timer "0 (zero)" (in that case, use this patch, that doesn't let the "Time Up!" image appear when Mario dies).

431. Don't assume that just because your hack has custom material in it that it's automatically good. You can still have bad level design but good music...

424. Don't make your patch change a SMW rom into a SMAS+W rom, with the custom levels. Make it stay the same, while still changing the levels in SMW.
425. Don't feel like you shouldn't make two different patches, one for SMAS+W, and one for SMW. If you do decide to have a patch for each, be sure to point out which is which, and make sure the SMAS+W patch does not turn SMW into SMAS+W

436. Be careful with the number of sprites when you put a silver P-Switch. If there are lots of sprites, silver coins will obviously appear after Mario press the P-Switch, but, if he collect them, he will gain more and more lives.

437. Want a cave in a grassland or a line-guided platform in a castle? Play around with the tilesets in the Super GFX bypass menu or mix tilesets in YY-CHR!

They wont act differently. All you're doing is combing graphics. Not tampering with block values.

Tileset specific tiles will act different if you use the wrong one.
If your tileset is for example, set to ghost house, you can't use line guides even if you mix tilesets.

Tbh i just need to reword it say "When mixing GFX from difernt tile sets be carful when using obects and tile from tileset specific as they may act difrently" As tiles do act difrently in tile specific.

This is something I discovered while working on Super Mario Starlight Remix.

Tiles with an x or diagonal plaid pattern are filler tiles. When possible, take advantage of them to get more mileage out of GFX sets. EXAMPLE: When using GFX02, the tiles for the Falling Spike are all plaid-patterned filler tiles. Draw something like an acorn on those 4 tiles. Now you have a falling acorn for your forest levels.

441: Create some creative concepts. The old grassland set can be spiced up a lot! By mixing other tilesets in, using custom palettes, decorating with MAP16 tiles and other elements you can come up with some nice ideas!
