Or you sure you're opening the rom (a .smc-file) and not the patch? (the .ips-file)

You praboly need "Lunar Expand". What IPS Patch did you download? Are you sure your ROM is Clean?

You've to expand the rom before patching the ips-patch, just that you know. (2 MB should be enough for Demo World)

If you have the Short demo, then I don't know, but if you have the full hack. Then this worked for me in "Lunar Expand" 48 Mbit ExHiROM (6 MB)

I really hope that you made a backup copy of your ROM, First Expand your backup ROM with out applying any patches to it. Expand it to the size I gave you, at least try it. Once you have expanded your rom to that size, then use Lunar IPS to patch your rom, and play it to see if it works.

I'm pretty good on all of the basic's of SMW hacking (overworld, levels, custom blocks, ect), but whenever I try to use a tool for adding music, it doesn't work for my computer. I've tried all of the tools that are supposed to be n00b-proof, but still I get no results. Is there anyone who can help me?

@marioguv: does the rom have a 512 byte header? You can add one using SNESTool in the Tools section.

Do you mean changing the music in the level? I think I may have found your answer by mistake. If you open the level in lunar magic and click on the "Change Properties in Header" button, it should give you a box with what looks like a string of coordinates of some kind on the top dropdown menu. I believe if you change that to the right setup, you might be able to edit the boss levels with whatever you want.
I'm not sure since I haven't tried yet, so I apologize if it doesn't work. I hope that helps.

Hi
I have a water level (Level11) (Horizontal level)
and another water level (LevelC2) (Vertical Level)
when I get into pipe at Level11 (Destination Level: C2), nothing comes up. Just a black screen and the music (Cave music)'s tempo is a bit fast.
Can someone help me plz?
thanks!

No, that only allows the insertion of sprites. I believe my problem involves hex editing, but I didn't see anything regarding it on the ROM map. Thanks for trying, though!

Can someone tell me how to change mario's name. i want it to say "Rex" instead of "Mario". at the top of the screen, and also at the begining of levels since I changed mario into a rex.

OmegaLakitu: Use Smallhackers Status Bar editor. You can find it in our tools section. ;)

Most of the times it's save to patch on a hacked rom. (unless something else it stated)
But you can always make a backup of your rom, just in case.

Yeah. Select the patch first, then the ROM (the file select window says that though).
