When I edit a vertical level and play it, background always glitch..
how can I avoid this problem?

click on the water icon
And chance the `Layer 2(BG)Scrolling rate´ to
`H-scroll;variable,V-scroll:slow

I had that same probelm, which why I stopped creating verticle levels

Set the `Layer 2(BG) Scrolling rate` to `H-scroll; Variable, V-scroll; None` Then.
Hope this works.

If it doesn't work, try using the "SMW BG Scroll Rate Settings Editor" found in the Tools section. Create the option "H-Scroll: None; V-Scroll: Slow" and use it in your vertical level. This works for me, at least.

I got a problem with vertical levels too. As example, I want for the main entrance to be in the screen number 3, but when I modify that in "Modify Main and Midway entrances", Mario moves horizontally 3 screens right, not vertically 3 screens down.
Whan should I do?

Make sure that both of the top boxes ("Use Vertical Level Positioning for all entrances" and "Vertical Level: Unknown/Unused") in the Modify Other Properties window (fish button) are checked.

Vertical levels are weird. Think of the top 2 screens as 2 normal screens side by side. That would mean that, on screen 0 (on the top) the BG and FG initial position should be zero. and that, in the middle, 60, and the botton of screen 01, C0. And the pattrn continues.
Also, sometimes the game is weird about what screens dont give garbage GFX.
