I actually wanted to play "Demo World : The Legend Continues" , but I didn't know what to do with a IPS-file back then...

The first SMW hack I ever played was made by a random person on a SSB forum I used to frequent. It would defenitely not have been accepted on this site, though it was that hack that first got me into SMW hacking.

TSRPR2, here.
at first I had a mac with snes9X, and I patched a bad rom.
Now I use windows and found a clean ROM, and I am still inspired by that hack today.

Super Demo World, TLC. I still play it when I'm boring.. that hack bring me back the memories when I was a total noob at SMW Hacking.

Super Demo World: The Legend Continues.
As for a SMW2 hack, I've never played one, so I'll have to say the first I've played, and it was today, was Super Mario World 2: Reloaded!.

Sendys world. It was my first romhack and i thought i would never play romhacks again, but it turned out i just didnt like ASM hacks that much
which is extremely ironic because my favorite hack(as of now) is TKO
The first one I watched someone LP was kaizo special stage two on youtube by proton jon
