By taking a look at the above posts, I would say that he already changed the palette of these Layer 3 clouds. ;P

Anyway, your third level is looking quite nice - I really like your sprite choices there as well, as I don't really recall seeing the Lantern Ghosts being used in non-cave levels. Also, just so you know, your latest screenshots are really convincing me to open EggVine and attempt to work on my hack a little... I guess I'll go ahead and do so. :P
Jeorge: It's nice to know you like the palettes.

Mue: As Broozer said, the palette of the Layer 3 clouds has already been changed. Oh, and I know 1-4 is going to take a while to make, and that's why I'm not making 1-3 extremly long. I think I can do a sewer level in 5/4 days. :p

Broozer: Thanks for the compliment. Oh, and the level is being based around Tap-Taps, but I think it was a bonus then that the Lantern Ghosts were included in the Sprite Set. And it's really motivating to know that I'm motivating, if you know what I mean. :D
A few days ago, Breakfast gave me a lot of sincere feedback and criticism, so I worked on fixing the problems he pointed out in the hack. It is still a 3 level demo that doesn't contain 1-4 (which wasn't touched in my relaxing period, heh), but here is the fixed IPS:

The Yoshi Tribe - A Tale of Battles

Feedback is still appreciated, and you guys know that. ;)
Just finished playing through it, and I really enjoyed your level design. The third level was a tad too short, in my opinion, but I guess you had to hurry to get done with it before C3, so eh.

Although I really enjoyed this demo you got there, I have noticed some pretty small bugs along it, such as the following:

Strangely, the Mole Morphing Bubble can pop up exactly underneath where it is actually supposed to show up. I guess that's because you placed the '?' cloud for it a tad too close from the grass ledge towards the bottom of it, making the '?' cloud blow underneath the ledge if it is hit while it approaches the ledge a lot. I would suggest moving the '?' cloud a little more towards the top, if that's really the case.

This is what happens if the player accidentaly dies somewhere in the second level in case he/she had already reached the middle ring - upon choosing the "restart from middle ring" option, the player restarts in the midway entrance of the THIRD LEVEL instead of restarting in the midway entrance of the SECOND LEVEL itself. Therefore, I highly recommend fixin' things up here.

Other than what I just pointed out, this is a pretty nice hack overall - I really loved how the plot constantly interacts with the levels themselves along your journey. Speaking of the plot, I must say that it is quite distinct from the other YI hacks' around, which is great. ;)

So yeah, really liked what I played through - looking forward to playing the next version of your hack!
Thanks Broozer! It's nice to know that you enjoyed the hack, the level design, the plot and everything! ^_^

Oh, and thanks for pointing out the issues. I'll move the ? cloud with the Morph Bubble two tiles upwards, and I'm rather confused about the issue with the Midring. That never happened before. I guess I forgot to test that part when I made the latest IPS. O_o

Anyway, I'll fix that with Romi's handy Midring editor. ;)
Thundahack used a Full Restore!

It appears that it worked. So yeah, with this six month bump (which also means the hack was frozen for half a year >_<), I show you what I could do in 1-4 for now with Yoshi_fan's Sewer Level Tutorial. A large thanks to him!

Poor Egg Plant. Living in the sewers tends to be hard in general, but being assaulted with water doesn't seem nice. :(

Some happy Dancers are about. Be careful, though. When the one in the left jumps, he'll make a huge leap right into you.

Yeah, that's pretty mcuh what I said.

This could pass as an Amusement Park when the Yoshies don't have anything to do. :D

Yoshi will have to think twice about getting that flower.

Well that didn't take so long to make because that's essentially 3 and a half EggVine screens, but comments are welcome.

Also, @democriticism: I fixed the errors Broozer was kind enough to point out.

Looks nice Thundahack, it's good to see this hack is not frozen. Also great sewer level - I wouldn't have the patience to make anything like that. Well done :)
Looks nice, even if there are some wrong-placed shadows.

Yeah, some are bound to happen. I can't find a way to fix them, though. However, after finishing the level, I'll try my best to make them right.
So yeah, due to frustration, I just sent that damn sewer level into space (read: left it for later). I've just barely started working on an actual castle for 1-4, but I think I understand Castle Walls already.
Looks good Thundahack, the castle walls for 1-4 look great, but maybe you should change the Layer 2 and Layer 1 palettes? They look very similar to the original game's.

So yeah, I still need to change palettes and backgrounds. I'll probably try and outside background, so it flows with the previous levels.

EDIT:

That's an interesting tileset combination. I don't think I've seen one quite like it before. It really gives off the "open castle" feeling, which is neat.

Any ideas on what kind of sprites you'll be using? The flaming Shy Guys and Sparkies seem like they would fit, given the atmosphere.
Yes, I've been considering using fire-based enemies in that castle. I'll probably come up with something soon.

Thanks for the feedback.

EDIT: I'm probably going to use 29, with Spear Guys, Dancing Spear Guys, Crabs, Karate Guys, Chain Chomps, and Fire Guys. I'm still not sure which boss would go well with those enemies, though.

I'd say either Bigger Boo or Marching Milde. But the best thing would be a Chomp- or Fire-Boss, but there isn't one.

I reckon the Frog boss would fit well with a tropical castle, as you were going to use before.
I'd go with Prince Froggy too. It's a nice easy boss fight to get the game started.
I've been checking this thread a bit. And now I've decided to comment.
Your levels are looking very good. I do hope you add fire based enemies to 1-4 like everyone is saying. This is looking like a great hack. Well done! :D
