Is there a way to make the level bigger heightwise? As in, the level going vertical mostly instead of horizontal.
Sorry for the noob question... I don't see a search button and I just started messing around with this today...

No, there isn't. Although you can make a vertical level, but I'm sure that's not what you want.

AddMusic is messing up my ROM. It was working perfectly with the PowerDown patch until today. I recently decided I wanted the Title Music to be the Goldeneye 007 song, which requires the N-SPC patch. I applied it and made JBTheme the Title Music. When I tested it, it worked fine until Mario took damage from an enemy. When Mario got hit, the game froze and went black.
I got my back-up ROM and tried again. This time, I tried one thing at a time, and found that AddMusic is causing the game to freeze when Mario takes damage. I can't understand why, because it was working perfectly until now. It can't be the PowerDown patch, because it was working fine with it. It can't be the N-SPC patch either, because it still freezes when that patch isn't applied. What's going on with AddMusic?

I'm having a hell of a time trying to get smallhacker's Status bar editor working.
To help display my obvious frustration at the program, I have even taken some screenies.
First of all, I've blown my stack on this problem. I've actually searched for a long time, a good 4 hours spent rifling through three subforums, and I cannot find an answer anywhere.
Smallhacker's tool works so that it asks for the directory where your Allgfx.bin or GFX28.bin is stored. After punching that in, you're supposedly supposed to punch in your rom's name, in a specific formula.
That is exactly how I entered my ROM's name the first time.
try 2: MDtD
try 3: mdtd.smc
try 4: mdtd
try 5: C:\Documents and Settings\Nick\Desktop\mdtd\MDtd.smc
try 6: C:\Documents and Settings\Nick\Desktop\mdtd\MDtd
try 7: C:\Documents and Settings\Nick\Desktop\mdtd
After getting annoyed with the program's inability to know where I was trying to lead it, I moved the entire folder into the My Documents area, and placed the Editor in the folder containing the hack. [The folder that Lunar Magic uses to store its graphics was also included].
I had heard that you only needed to say "\graphics" when the folder holding the graphics was in the same directory as the .smc and the program, but apparently I was incorrect.

Will someone PLEASE lead me in the right direction? tell me what the heck is up? Help me to alleviate my frustrations!?

@Yamananka: Do you just have AllGFX.bin in the Graphics folder? Smalls' tools need seperate GFX files. Uncheck "Options --> Use joined GFX files" and re-extract the graphics again to create multiple files.

Well, I don't think this is in the custom sprite section, but is there a bullet-bill generator that shoots vertically? If it is in the custom sprites section, please direct me to it.
EDIT: Wait, is it the Separate bullet bill shooters (up,down, diagonal)?

If you inserted it as a normal sprite, try inserting it as a generator instead, and vice versa.

Guys, I'm using Carol's Overworld sprite tool, whatever I do, I can't seem to get the airship to work properly. I have it set as sprite number 0.

I'm trying to use the Firebar included with Sprite Tool, and it says in the description that The radius is specified in the .cfg file, but I'm not really sure where in the .cfg file that is. Can anyone help?
EDIT: Never mind, it was more complicated than it made itself out to be, but I worked out what I need.

Completely new and unrelated problem. I used the sprite that ends the level when all the sprites on screen are killed. (I'm having a brain fart and can't for the life of me remember what it's called, or find it anywhere online now though....), and everything seemed to work fine, except:
If I'm on the screen with it too long, it seems to end the level even if I haven't killed everything.

Alright, I'm at a loss. I've imported Breakable Bricks into my hack using Blocktool SuperDX, and they're working great, but there's this annoying animation that pops up whenever I hit the blocks with small Mario:

The image of a generic/turnable block appears over the brick, rises up, and falls down. Is this something I'll be able to fix without messing around with the .bin file the block came from?
Note: I am using the Blocktool version, not the patch to actually change all turnable blocks into breakable bricks. (I want the turnable blocks to still be in there!)

Just change the sprite turn block graphics in GFX00 into the ones of the breakable brick.

Like I said, though, I want the turnable blocks to still be in there, with the original graphics. I want breakable blocks to be their own separate entity. Is that possible?

That would be... complicated, to say the least. You would have to code a separate bounce sprite for the breakable block, and make the block use that instead of the normal one.

Yeah, I was afraid that would be the case. :\
One last try before I give up - what would it take to just stop the block from doing any bounce animation? As in, it would act like a brown or cement block for small Mario, but still be breakable for big Mario?
