Ok...
I have a little problem with BTSD. When I add teh asm file to the database, it'a all OK. But, when I try to add the block, it says: "the file does not exist". What do I do now???
Did you specify the path to the ASM file correctly? (asm/block.asm)
Yes. But it didn't work
For ASM block files that I download, could I just drag them over trasm.exe to make them compatible with Blocktool, or is it more complicated?

To make them compatible with BlockTool, you have to delete the jumps that are stated at the beginning, then change the RTL's to RTS's. There might be more, but those are the basics.
All right, I am getting very, very frustrated.
I downloaded RLM (Recover Lunar Magic) to unlock a rom, and I followed the instructions just like I should:
http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh3/leafbarrett/commandline.png
And yet, the output file I get is this:
http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh3/leafbarrett/filename.png
First off, the file's only 127 bytes. Second, the file type isn't even correct.
I opened it in a hex editor to see if there was even anything in it, and I got this:
http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh3/leafbarrett/hexfile.png

I'm doing everything the instructions AND the readme say I should. Is there something I'm doing wrong that I'm just not seeing?

EDIT: ...Oh, I absolutely love how every other topic has at least one new post, while this one's been ignored. -.-

I need some help with this wierd sprite thing...i insert somthing simple like a boomerang bro, and it turns into a light blue ice-like fuzzy that falls through the ground, and is harmless! and plus, i added one (was a venus using the classic pirhana plant sprite) its XY was 0, and i couldent reach it! now, it becomes impossible to delete! Please tell me how to deal with this!

EDIT:i just deleted the sprite using view hex data/number whatever, but i STILL need help with the custom sprites morphing into harmless fallthrough ground ice like fuzzies...

Sorry for double post, but BOY, why is this topic so dead? O_o
Can I use Romi's Spritetool on a ROM that I already have used mikeyk's one on without screwing stuff up, or do I need to port everything to a new ROM?
I'm pretty sure you can. Why not just make a backup and try?
can somebody tell me where i can find a speed-up block for an automatic level?
spritetool question:
I'm trying to get both a left and right going thwomp in the same level. When I use sprite tool I deside that I want the GFX from the original thwomp to be used on the new twomps, but I can only get one of the new thwomps to work at once. this is what I wrote in my sprites.txt file:

26 thwomp_left.cfg
26 thwomp_right.cfg

I can see that this is wrong in some sort of way, but I don't know how to fix it. Can anyone help me out?
Try to put it as this instead:

26 thwomp_left.cfg
27 thwomp_right.cfg

Insert the left going Thwomp as sprite number 26, right going Thwomp as sprite number 27. You can't put 2 sprites at the same sprite slot - I guess only the thwomp_right worked for you.

Thank you Roy! I got it to work:) I think I've missunderstood something about the numbers that comes before the name of the sprites. Like, thwomps have have the number 26 in Lunar, Thwimps have 27. But as long as it works, I don't care at the minutte.
I don't know if this is the right thread to ask this question..

Anyway, when I've made ExGFX files until now I've always used another ExGFX file from this site and just overdrew it. I do this because I don't have a clue on how to make these Map16Page.bin and Map16PageG.bin I need to insert the graphics and all the other properties.

Is these .bin files hard to make? can anyone link me a tutorial if there are any for this subject? I would like to custom made these files in some sort of way:)
The FAQ is your friend.

How do you Use Sprites in a Level?

How do you know what will happen?
By looking at the sprite's description? >_>

Also, to use sprites, read a sprite tool tutorial. There's a good one in the n00b Hacking section.

As suggested by ChaoticFox I'll post this specific question in this Tool-thread. It's about snestool; everytime I try to open it in Windows Vista(64-bit) I get the following error:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check
your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit)
version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

I've already tried the following: chanching the compatibility of snestool to several other versions of Winsdows, trying to run snestool as administrator.
Google search didn't quite give me an answer either.

So does anyone know how to fix this(not involving VMware or similar), or maybe know another program that lets me add/remore the $200 byte header of my SMW-rom(in order to install Hdma)?

Thank you in advance.

Edit: the issue is solved(I hope), you can find the answer in this thread.
