Overworld editor, click "view layer 1 mario paths" (green path) press "0" so you can see through them, then click "Layer 2 event editor mode" (hill with star), then click "open layer 2 event tile selector" (path button) at the bottom of the overworld editor window it will tell you what event you're on, (I always start at event 0x0) once on an event number, use the event tile selector window to place the tiles you want for that specific event, on the level you want it to happen on, click "layer 16x16 editor mode" (ghost house) click your level then click the "open modify level tile settings dialogue" (yellow level marker) and select the event you want to activate and direction to move

Yeah...what Slash Man said. You can use the Page Up and Page Down keys to scroll through events. Also, make sure you have Mario paths lain over top of your events. These, as Slash Man said, can be made visible by pressing 9 and translucent by pressing 0. In the 16x16 tile editor (the blue switch palace button), if you have Mario paths visible, you should see a lot of tiles with these paths. In the layer 1 editor (the ghost house), lay paths over your events that match the shape of the paths in the event tiles, or at least as close as you can get them.

You can edit your first post in this thread to change the thread title to say "close", but you shouldn't if you think you may need more help on the same topic.

In Event Editor mode, use PageUp and PageDown keys to scroll through events. The current event will be shown completed, while the the next event (numerically) will have red highlighting. Make sure you are on the correct event before placing tiles for that event. (Events are triggered by exiting levels. You can choose which which event a level will trigger by editing the properties for that level.)
With the tile selector, use up and down arrow keys to scroll through the event tiles until you find the path tiles. Make sure when you paste the path tiles to the map, you do it in the order you want them to appear. If you can't find a suitable tile for the shape of your path, you can go back to the layer 2 editor and make your own path tiles underneath the others (they're on the right side in that blue area). They will then show up in the tile selector window.
