| Tip: If you plan on making long levels, be sure to include multiple midway points. A patch for this can be found in the Patches section. |

Here are 2 levels from mine and my brothers hack called eternal mario it still needs alot of work but comments on creativity and any fixes or sugestions are welcome well actually any comments are welcome
i want to also add that this is our first hack and we are not experienced with pswitch music and asm editing\
thanks for all the ideas i no i have to redo some of the backgrounds and also i never said this was the final level i just uploaded this vids to get an idea of what ppl think of it so far the flat spaces i didnt do yet i just wanted to get the level so it could be walked through and checked for glitches with exits and stuff. ofcorse it will not have flat places and no sprite rooms like it dose now
as for the many cement blocks its supposed to be the outside of a outside
and i do know how change the palettes i just thought a purple forrest would look nice. i no the background of the first inside room of the ruins looks a lil messed up cause i tried to make it look destroyed. i did a good job making the other room look destroyed (the backgrounds i mean)
well we have alot of other levels that might be more aesthetically pleasing to the eye ill upload more later
Lilac Ruins

Oh boy. Okay, first, the palettes are gag-worthy. There are glitched backgrounds, repetitive level design, overused of cement blocks, and sprite glitches. This might seem harsh, but you need to know the truth. I liked the OW, even though it kinda resembled the old one. this is going to need a lot of work, but good luck.

There are a lot of things you need to do. I only watched the first video and already you need to do a lot of work in order for it to be accepted.
The pallettes look very weird and unpleasent.
Background garbage needs to be fixed/removed.
Some of the doors are glitched.
The level looks empty and boring in a lot of areas.
These are some of the points.

lilac...lilac...lilac...
Well, Isaw your video, and I can see your quite eager at making levels. Although the level I saw was slightly kaizo(all the flame blobs and everything) and slightly bland(no enemies and random objects in places, like doors and pipes), I can see that yopu have potential to be a good level designer. All you need to do is add a bit more vareity to your levels by adding some more enemies, power-ups etc. and maybe some fancy new ExGfx or whatever it is and some graphics. Then you're level will be better.

There colours at the begining in the forest were OK....but after that they got terrible the level was flat out and to open spaced to little sprites for such a big area. you also keep back tracking to the same rooms then start going backswards....WTF!! (sorry had to)
you can fix this by putting coin blocks, coins, yoshi coins, items, SPRITES, and other stuff to make the player stop, explore, and ENJOI the level(yes I know enjoi is a skate brand)and please for gods sake fix those colors just change the FG (fore ground) for starters if your new to LM (lunar magic) just edite the normal levels and play around with it and get familiar with it....now your imagination is different then mine and we are are all different in making levels thats what make rate hacks hard!!
While your doing that play OTHER peoples ROM hacks to see what levels are like some people mak edifferent themes so pick a hack that fits your theme....now don't copy anything that they did well you could but your ahck review would look like this......
( I loved your but its too much like others hacks try being creative)
you want to avoid that also trying to make a hack that is fun and not like other peoples but not to.....retarded...like yours! (sorry thats the nicest thing I could think of)
so take some time to make the level sand coins and coin blocks and some hills don't make you levels completly linear (tip: read the tips at the top of the SMWcentral pages they help...a bit)
As for the OW (over world) it looked cool but yu had random ghost houses and no paths....well the leaves were paths which were cool and made it look like mario cut down the trees or somthing was creative but when you had level sitting on trees and levels only a few 16by16 pixels away it got pretty bad in other words things were to crammed....
If you listen to what I say and READ this you will get better responses and you will feel proud of what you did!!!.....
Your critic,
N00Br

Hahahahahahahahahaha
Yes, "obsticles and sprites" generally make rooms interesting as opposed to "nothing"

Long stretches of running and maybe a little unchallenging jumping with nothing else do not, say, build suspense. They build irritation. And if those parts are unfinished and you know they're damned boring, putting them in a video might not be the best route until they're, you know, not irritating stretches of nothingness anymore.
And not everything has to be purple. For the love of God, not everything has to be purple. And I say this as someone who actually likes purple. Of course, watching the second video, where I was going DEAR GOD NO MORE PURPLE, there was some little bit with black and white, and that was worse, so I don't know.
Also, don't use Saria's song, because I am basically the stereotypical crazy, stupid, zealous fanboy-type* about the N64 Zelda games and if you sully things related to them I will cut you.
*I say fanboy because fanboy and fangirl have entirely different connotations in their types of obnoxious fannish devotion, and fanboy conveys the appropriate attitude here.

I can see you really want to make a good hack, since at the end of Lilac Palace, you said "I hope you'd like to play it." Well, I would, but once you fix the problems listed above. Also, here's a bit of my advice: You can and will do it, eventually. Even if you never mak a featured Hack, you can make a good decent hack that's still fun to play!
