Tip: Avoid "item babysitting". Do not force the player to drag P-Switches or springboards all around the level. This is not fun, nor does it make for interesting "puzzles".

I thought that the luigi's adventure series was tough with the luigi's adventure 2 demo as the hardest of all three

Kaizo Mario 2!

Really, I think it would be The Muncher Run 2's secret area.

EDIT: lol post 444, and level 17! :D

Hey message block, I saw your youtube video on the japanese mario world hack called The Mario. Do you know where I can find the ips patch for it?
The hardest hack I played besides kaizo is Mario's Masochistic Mission.
Item Abuse
Pit of Death
Pit of Despair
Super Not Nice World
I forgot to say a couple. There's Super Challenge World, the Mario X world series like mario x world SER , and I also played the chomper run or whatever it's called. So many curse words and migrains lol.
Masochostic Mission
This lovely piece of ****...
That hack is hard enough to send people to a mental hospital for trying to run over a giant fish fajita taco with a rocket helicopter because the levels traumatised the **** out of them and thouroughly beat the crap out of thier mind with just a rom hack lol. Good job on the TAS though.

I agree with you, but I didn't do that video. I just linked to it because... well, because I just did. I've actually been able to get to the second room...
I'm surprised that no one has said anything about Kusottare world yet, but I don't think it was possible to beat that hack, am I wrong?
I actually thought of the "place key below feet and then pick it up and jump" trick, and it seemed to work in theory. But in actual play, that trick does not seem to work. Instead, a note block forms, so I guess that is as good.

Kussotare is definitely beatable, I've done it myself. I found a way to break the last level because I got bored, but Penangberry has done a TAS of it the way it is supposed to be done.

Moltov mario world is harder than kussotare imo, and obviously a lot harder than kaizo. It's also very tedious and annoying, but I think that was what the creator intended. Item abuse is meant to be harder than moltov, but I am yet to play it.
Any kaizo mario 3?
Item Abuse. I can't even get past the very first part. At all.
I'm not gonna touch things like Kusottare and Item Abuse. Those are for TASers. As far as PLAYABLE hacks, I'd put Enigmatic Mario up there as pretty hard, not so much because you have to pull of crazy maneuvers (though you sometimes do), but because you often have no idea what to do and you really have to think to figure out how to get to the end of the level.
Master Quest 6.
The hardest I've played is Kaizo 2. The hardest I've seen is the pit of despair, pit of death, Item abuse, etc.
I think the Hardest Hack ever is either:
Pit of Despair,
Item Abuse,
Super Soda World
Guys, I think by "besides kaizo" he means hacks that are not kaizo. Hacks like Pit of Despair and Item Abuse ARE kaizo.
