just an FYI Crispy:
The piano will get cut off by SFX, which will probably make that part sound awkward if used in-game.

I'm even more scared about sample porting than ever before.. after I ported this song:
Seiken Densetsu 3 - 'High Tension Wire'
I heard an unsampled version of this song in Super Mario World Yeah!!, and I decided to make my own version for SMWC. I hope the notes aren't off-key too much.. I'm sure at least one of them are, but I can't decide. It's 5AM. ._.;
.. Anyways, I personally think this sounds nice. What do you guys think?

Drill Dozer - Underwater
Even though nobody knows what this song is, this came out absolutely perfect, and it's my new favorite port. The drums were a pain, but all the triplets were fun (practically the entire song is wrapped in triplet brackets).

You already know from my reaction on IRC that I was absolutely overjoyed to hear this song ported! It's really catchy, and I have had it playing on loop almost all day since you showed it to me this morning. Wonderful work! ^_^

You have just made me the happiest person ever, Azure.
I thought NOBODY would port ANY of the music from Drill Dozer, ESPECIALLY that song, since it sounds so amazingly hard to port in the first place. <333333
EDIT: I'll have you know I just woke up and already am listening to that port again.

I wasn't expecting a Drill Dozer port. I just love that song.

ok, this is my first real attempt at music porting, and I think it turned out pretty good. I made baba o'riley by The Who. Let me know what you think/how to improve on it (I'm working on keith moon [drums] right now so I'll see if I can get that working [probably not though...])
Thanks.

Anyway,s the biggest thing I see is that you don't use the l command. at the beginning of the file (each track? I never really got how to use the l command) you should put whichever note length you see the most (I see 16 the most I think) after the letter l, then replace each instance of the note length 16 with a blank space. See the custom music tutorial by SNN and... someone whose name I can't remember right now... for more information. Also, you can use label looping, so you can turn this:

(1) and I noticed that that particular set of notes is played multiple times throughout the song, and you can replace every one of the occurences with (1). Once again, see the custom music tutorial if you want to really undestand this.
Edit: SCREW THE SMILEYS!!! each of thse smileys is a 8 and then a >.
1. This.
2. Supertails made the tutorial with SNN.
3. You don't need to use everything in the header. Only put what you're planning to actually change.
4. They purposely did that so that people can understand as they're learning.
5. Of course we can understand it. This is a thread where we all share music with each other.
6. I like the smileys. :(
7. Version 6, with a few key fixes.

The samples sound amazing and your ports have definately improved over time. So far I believe that this is actually your best port, and that's coming from someone who has never even heard the original before! Great job! :D

I was definitely not trying to tell all those things to the 1337 (I guess smileys are good for something) music porters that are usually here.
Edit: I mean... What are you talking about, I didn't post that...

I love this song. I love it so much, I ported it in under half an hour. I know the VIP's and Rock Mario X have this song, but I ported this myself, with a MIDI I found off of VGmusic.com.
.spc (@17 version)
.spc (@6 version)
Should I go with @17, or @6?

Ddooom: I like the @6 more, although I'll be honest, the VIP one is way better. :\

Yahoooooooooo!!! Sigma Stage Select!! This is awesome! I've been waiting for an SMW version of this provided by a good user of SMWCentral!

Maybe, but it's harder to locate them lest anyone knows a few Japanese SMW hacking sites. Oh, but we're probably not allowed to provide such links.
Great job, Ddoomm! Either version sounds suitable for a "final" submap or other similar situations. I like them both.

I don't think anyone ported this song before, but this is the music you hear in the color dungeon in Zelda Link's Awakening DX. What do you think?

I ported it so all of SMWC can use it. If anyone can tell me that can make it sound anymore accurate, tell me. I want this to sound perfect before I submit it.
I did get a PM from a (anonymous) user to add some echo effects to it. What do you guys think?

I got yet ANOTHER port to show off now:
Harvest Moon - Winter Theme
I've never actually played Harvest Moon before, but the song here caught my attention and I ported it (although don't expect a release of the song... I've already got a purpose for it).

Well, I personally don't like the @17 being there.. If anything, I say you tone it down a bit. I really like what you did with the @2, though! It sounds really nice fading out like that!... but.. can you tone that down too? I felt like it was piercing my ears at times..
Overall, I think this was a good port! Nice job, Big Al! :D

Well, you could really use more ADSR on this song. I think the @6 and @11 are a bit on the louder side but, then again, the entire song's volume is like that. The song is supposed to be calm and stuff. D:
Your port, in the end, the notes are all there. It sounds nice as it is, but I think it could sound better with ADSR. I don't think this song needs echo, though, but that's completely up to you, and how you intend to use it. Well, good luck with your port and hack, Red Chameleon!
By the way, I made a fast port of the Harvest Moon - Friends of Mineral Town - Winter Theme port months ago. Heh.. the horrible port was so bad, I scrapped it. x)
EDIT: The humiliation.. has begun >^<;
EDIT EDIT: WHOA! I NEVER POSTED THIS!? dsfghsghjshdagjfgksadgkjsadjgf.html.spc

Also while I am here, I may as well show off some of my other ports.

Mario & Luigi: BiS - Friendly theme
I like how the second one came out.
(Also, there are some more ports of mine here)
