Biospark: Heh, thanks.
I think my levels usually are fairly short-to-average sized, but indeed, Stalker's Seas is very short.

*off to build a castle*

Hey, nice to see progress on this. Will be checking this one out when finished!
Good fucking bye.

CASTLE NUMBER SIX:
complete!

gonna name this one "Wendy's Works", unless someone can think of a better name still involving the "W W" format, involving Wendy.

Features: munchers, munchers, omnomnom, more munchers, custom sprites that look like munchers, and also pansers.

Early on: omnomnom!

A panser man!

Semi-hidden plant guy!

Also, I have started work on the first level of world 7 (also the final world unless I decide I'll do the star world)

How's this palette?

(Spoilers: boss of this world is likely to be Bowser.)

It isn't that bad but I think the top of the ledge looks better if it's brighter than the bottom.
Vines connected to Pipes; with enemies and obstacles on them? Have to say; that castle seems pretty inserting and challenging from what I can see.

Normally I'd agree, but for some reason I really like the look it got this way.

Thanks, that's what I was aiming for. :P

oh man

Part of world 8 - level 2.
Level 1 for world 8 is finished, and I've decided not to show much of these final levels because they're final levels which should be final levels and final levels are cool.

...also, I fear this last world's difficulty will be a massive spike, my new way of designing (compared to last year) can be a LOT tougher.

That level does look pretty tough. Spikes everywhere and the castle sprites make it look very endgame-ish. good job
That level is looking pretty cool yet pretty intimidating. Does give off the World 8 feel indeed. (Also liking that your using those kind of spikes)

Nice work.

Looks cool. Looks also difficult for World 8 which is good :). That's a lot of spikes here and there.
Holy man that's insane.

I'd actually recommend toning down the spike usage a bit, and rather focus on sprite placement and pits, but your design philosophy differs from mine, so you may do a much better job with them :P

The palette is awesome, though, and the BG fits very well, but I think you should change its palette to something more like a desaturated blue, as that would fit better with the blueish ground. The yellow stars compliment the spikes quite well, too.

I don't think I'll tone down on the spikes, and I DO focus on sprite placement (and pits) a lot too. :P

As for the BG palette...

As for the BG palette, probably option 1, 2 or 4. Option 3 has too bright BG (or at least for me).

Since Wormer went for 1, 2, or 4, Evilguy went for 4, and someone on the IRC also said 4 was the best one, I'm sticking with 4.

...Other than that, nothing new to show, but only two and a half levels left until the hack's done! :D

I have to choose between 4 or 5. I'll go with 4.

Level is finished... only TWO levels left!
Up first: A haunted cave maze with some madness!
Here's the palette I'll most likely use, for you guys!

After that... Bowser's castle. oh man. I'm gonna have to get a costum bosser for that I guess, SMW's bowser is horribly overused and boring.

Im really digging that FG colour! :D Nice work!
The Haunted Cave is looking pretty interesting; and I'm liking the palettes as well. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

Nice palette. You could also change the white points in the spikes to ie. light purple. It's not necesarry, though.
