I hate school aswell. The boys and girls are split up in my school and most of the people there are assholes. I start tomorrow. Does anyone else?

Wow. Unlike you guys, I actually LIKE, that's right, I said LIKE school. It actually gives me something to do instead of being on the computer eight hours a day. Also, I'm an eighth grader, so there should be close to no one who would actually start a fight with me.

Oh, gosh, until about a year and a half ago I would be like "I agree more than any other person in the flippin' world!"...But not anymore.
I'd hated school ever since third grade, but at the beginning of 2008, as I was about to enter the second semester of ninth grade, I realized how self-centered my reasons for disliking school had been and what a mistake it had been to be mopey in school and not care about interacting with other people. I enjoy school now, simply because I get to talk with people, make friends, and form great memories.
You're not going to have any fun or have any fond memories of school if you don't think you enjoy it. Just have fun with your friends and your classes. I don't have the "most people are jerks" problem in my school, so this will probably be hard for the people who do, but certainly there's at least some redeeming qualities in the whole deal. Focus on those and get as much good out of it as you can.
I don't start school until the 8th of September, after Labor Day...and my birthday will be only just over a week after that. It's kind of annoying to have a birthday so early in the school year, but I guess it has its perks.

School is alright. You get to see your friends, and the learning part will help you later in life.

Same. I really don't know how my senior year of high school will turn out. My schedule's slightly lighter this time, though I do have some tough stuff like AP English. Our awesome Japanese teacher left too, so we'll have a replacement who might not be as good. :/
Since sophomore year, I've been a member of, and eventually led a school club that's basically a bunch of guys (and one girl, but she left) who play Brawl or SSB64/Melee during lunch. We always have a hard time finding a room to use since we've become infamous after some members decided to leave their trash and get too loud at points. Ah well. I'll have to find someone to pass it down to as well by year's end.

This.
For me, at least, after football season everything seems to calm down and everything becomes a bit easier and laid-back.

I like my classes this year, The only classes I have to really worry about is english and government. and I got art twice at the end of the day, so as soon as lunch starts, it's all easy going from there. {B)

Me too.
Every time I think about school, I physically feel sick. Not because of school in general, just because I'm going to a new school, and it's high school! Everyone I've talked to always say that "High School is the worst", but is that true? I honestly hope not. Also, I already get picked on by my peers because I'm 'weird'. I swear if it wasn't for my sense of humor I would be an outcast.
And another thing, the two schools I went to before were easy to understand where everything is, as in, my first school was just a square, and the middle school was pretty much two long hallways. In our grade 8 tour of the high school, it seriously is in the shape of a maze. I swear, if there is a minotaur in there..
It's not the work load, it's the idiot-load. And finding stuff.
ARGH, I'M SO NERVOUS!

Actually, going to High School (we call it Secondary College, but that's beside the point) was a big step for me. I went to a small primary school, so there weren't as many chances to befriend someone like you do when you change schools. I'm actually quite popular in my year level, and I rather enjoy hanging out with my friends, playing basketball and doing other things rather than staying on my laptop all day.
I for one, really like school. I have teachers that actually joke around with students, like, today, my english teacher and I started throwing insults at eachother because I complained about her spitting at me. We had a go at eachother for 5 minutes, and at the end I seriously couldn't stop laughing at what was happening.
Ah ... fun times.

Yeah, me too.
Though, like, I said before, I get picked on by my 'friends'.
I have a REALLY strange relationship with my friends, because I don't dress like everyone else, and I have "odd" interests, like being on the computer, even though I play lots of sports too.
It'd be something like this: Me and the gang would all be having a good time, talking about the NHL (National Hockey League for those who don't know) but, as soon as someone says something funny, someone else tries to say something funnier by belittling me, and/or making fun of me.
I laugh along with them, just so I don't give them the pleasure of seeing it actually is getting to me.
Though, I still like them, and hang out with them and stuff.
Then there are a few friends who are real friends, and don't make fun of me as much, and they don't care about what clothes I wear or whatever.

I wish our teachers were like that. Ours just hate pretty much every student in the school.
I hate school, and I am scared of most of my teachers.

NO way. i dont think school sucks at all. Sure, most people are like that, But you get to see your friends, and learning stuff can be fun too. Especially when its what you want to learn. Eventually, if you work hard enough, your life will come enjoyable in the end. As the chinese say: work hard, enjoy later.

School is a social place. Social people are good.
School is a place of education. Education is evil.
Originally posted by Blumiere(we call it Secondary College, but that's beside the point)
Do we really? You are talking about years 7-12 aren't you?
To describe my thoughts about school a bit more in-depth:
You get to meet friends. Working together is how you meet most people. When you go back to school, you get to see your friends again. If you don't have any friends, I feel sorry for you. You're missing out on one of the best parts of school.
Homework = Evil in a tangible form
The teachers... meh. There are some teachers that everybody just dislikes and some are loved by all.
My favourite teacher, out of all the ones I could possibly pick, I chose my Maths teacher. Don't misunderstand, Maths sucks. I just prefer teachers that have an attitude. It's more enjoyable than some old, angry, bald guy lecturing you for 40 minutes about how to mark out a piece of timber.

I agree. However, take that PLUS move to a new school each year = fun >_<
Everything resets and you must find new friends ALL over again, Fantastic! Not to mention some schools are horrible at transfering credits. PFFFT, actually, horrible at transfering anything...period!
Moving due to many situations suck but at least I...know lots of people?

School owns!
Highschool wasn't the big step I thought it would be. Like half the guys in my 'elementary' school went to the same highschool as me so I got it easy as far as friends go {B) Stayed there for the whole 6 years and did well enough to get into university. Only the last 2 years mean anything down here, the rest is just fucking around.
None of that works in university tho. You can be that guy with his head up his ass who goes on and on about how he *never* studies and what not and still scores straight A's. Welp, let's see just how badly that ego is crushed by those wicked awesome final exams. Better luck next year.
