Well, I don't think this is even a beta level, as it's right next to the data for level 06 (x31DB5), meaning this is just one byte off the data, explaining the extreme resemblance between the two levels. The reason it's glitched is because it's just one byte off. You can try and experimwnt with different addresses by that one and you'll see the levels resemble level 06.
tl;dr: This is not a beta level, it's just level 06 glitched up due to the fact that the address is located near the starting address for level 06's data.
At least, that's what I hope it is.

Yeah it's level 6.
Interesting to me, though, since I've written over 6. Guess LM didn't actually touch it, and merely made a new level and changed pointers. I guess all the old levels are still in the rom too? Would clear some space if I could delete them.

I created a program that scanned through the level data banks for unused level data. It didn't find anything other than the known beta levels, so it's probably pointless to try to look for more.

Almost everything LM saves is written to the expanded area of the ROM, including levels, as it doesn't really care about the 16 original banks. So, yeah, all original SMW levels will still be there, but deleting them won't do you any good as that space is ignored anyway.
If one refuses to expand the ROM to 1MB, I guess LM is forced to use the original space, but that seems like a bad idea somehow.

Would be some nice freespace for patches and junk is all I'm thinking. I don't think SMW levels are especially huge (few hundred bytes?), and I've got plenty of room (for now), but just seems better if I can compact things and make full use of all my space.

There's actually a lot of old beta levels that are untouched in Lunar Magic, as well as a few level names that were neverused.
