Using sprites that are affected by their X position

Basically what I was wondering is if there was some fancy magic way to use sprites that change depending upon their X positions (ie Blue/Silver P-Switches, Koopas that are climbing nets, etc) and have them not be affected by the X position.

Like, I have this Blue P-Switch, and I really want to put it in this one specific spot, but if I put it where I want to, it'll be a Silver P-Switch. Is there a way I can put it there and still have it be blue?

I tried using a custom sprite that acted similar to a P-Switch but the differences between the custom sprite and the original were so much that I didn't really want to use it. And I want to do the same thing with some other sprites on the same map so just changing the P-Switch doesn't alleviate the overall problem.

Anything I can do in this case?

Not particularly. Making a patch to disable this would disable it for all levels, thereby making a silver P-switch impossible. Not good. :^

So no, there really isn't a good way. Just shift your entire level one left or right, I guess..?
Some sort of ASM Hack to stop ste extra bit being assigned automatically?
Well, I originally did think about shifting the level over one tile, but the level is a verical level, and that wouldn't exactly be possible with the way it's set up.

I'd be content with any way of going about doing this, even if it was permanent in the hack I guess, although I would really like to avoid resorting to that.

My biggest concern is the P-Switch. The koopas on the net starting from the other side won't be that big of a deal if there's no easy way to go about doing this, but the P-Switch would be a big deal. Would it be possible at all to make/insert a custom sprite that acted exactly like a Blue P-Switch but didn't change to Silver every other tile?

So there should be a P-switch disassembly you mean?

It's not a true disassembly of the P-Switch but more like a remake that makes it behave like the original.

I hope it helps.

Yeah that basically.

That was what I originally tried to use before posting here. It worked like a blue P-Switch, but there were some small things I didn't like about it.

If it's too much work, then nevermind, it wouldn't be the end of the world if I did some sort of level tweak to move the P-Switch over one tile. I was hoping it would be as easy as changing a hex value or something.
You could use this patch.

If you want it to only be like that for one level, it'll be slightly harder.

That'll be good enough, thanks.
