Since we don't have an official archive for Yoshi's Island hacks on this website, and we won't be getting one until Kuribo's Shoe is finished, I thought it'd be safe to upload all the known YI hacks to my Mediafire account incase we lose them. This thread will contain all known YI hacks that we are allowed to distribute publicly. They're all in IPS format, so you'll need Lunar IPS to patch them to a clean "Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (U) (V1.0)" ROM, which you must find yourself (Google is your friend.)

COMPLETED HACKS/FINAL VERSIONS
SMW2+
A hack by Golden Yoshi. All 6 worlds are complete, along with extra stages.
SMW2+2
Another YI hack by Golden Yoshi. A sequel to SMW2+, it features 5 worlds, although it contains an extra "secret" level in each world, meaning there's a total of 10 levels each world, 50 all together.
Golden Yoshi Returns
A third YI hack by Golden Yoshi a.k.a. Jacob. This time, it is one level long and it features Golden Yoshi as a playable character. Can you get a perfect score?
Yoshi's Island: Kamek's Revenge
A hack by SNN. The hack features 6 worlds with the exception of Extra 5.
The original version of this hack contained many major glitches; however, in this version 1.96, Zeldara109 has fixed most of those glitches.
Yoshi's Island: Forlorn Lands
A second hack by SNN. It's the final version of the hack, containing 6 levels with some unique edits to the game's data.
Yoshi's Island: A Luigi Hack
A hack by Link13. It's not exactly a hack, just some palette edits of the original game that makes Mario look like Luigi and such.
Secret of Yoshi's Island
A hack by Yoshis Fan. All 6 levels are ported from the secret levels from the GBA-version of Yoshi's Island to the SNES version. The levels aren't fully identical, though, but still very fun to play.
NEW! SMW2 Yoshi's Island
A full YI hack by Yoshis Fan. Contains 6 worlds with an Extra and Secret level in each world, for a total of 60 levels.
Golden Yoshi Returns Again
Another Yoshi's Island mini-hack by Golden Yoshi, featuring one long and challenging level.
DEMO HACKS
SMW2: Bowser's Island
A hack by Mue. It's one world long, with an above average difficulty, but still very fun to play.
SMW2: Yoshi's Grand Adventure
A hack by fabio. It's one world long and features a unique day and night cycle that alternates each level.
The Yoshi Tribe: A Tale of Battles
A hack by Thundahack. This is the version released during C3, and it's a total of 3 levels long.
Happy Birthday Nick and Yoshiboy
A hack by HylianYoshi as a gift to his cousins. It's currently one level long.
Yoshi Yoshi
A hack by yogui. Nothing else to say. Has only the first world's level complete minus the extra stage.
KAIZO HACKS
Yoshi Must Die
A one level Kaizo YI hack by Sokobansolver that's exactly what it says on the tin. It focuses more on puzzles/traps/insanity than on exploration and collection, so it doesn't include any of the flowers or red coins.

If you know of any other Yoshi's Island hacks, please notify me in this thread with a direct link so I can download/upload it. If the hack is not yours, you must have the author's permission to distribute the hack before you link it!
Also, feel free to post any broken links or IPS patches that do not work. I'm not going to go testing every IPS patch, there's too many.

PS: I haven't included my hack yet since I need to recreate the IPS file.

Actually, Blumiere, don't put the hack Jeorge linked because there seems to be a lot of bugs which is really awkward. Give me a chance to fix them first. Wait till someone actually completes the demo first, then you can submit it.

If this is a bump, sorry, but would you mind adding this hack that I made as a birthday gift for my cousin Nick and Yoshiboy to this section Blumiere?
I would like for anyone and everyone to enjoy this hack as well!

It might be a good idea to include Yoshis Fan's newest demo as well when you update the list. And also change "Golden Yoshi/Steven" into "Golden Yoshi/Steven/Jacob".
Edit: My icon changed. I've seen other people edit level-ups into their posts-- I suppose this is level 2...

Yeah, the latest version of GYR can be found here. Even though it's one level, it's a complete hack.

Every time I edit that first post I get confused as to what to call him by. I think I'll change them all to Golden Yoshi because that's what he's mainly known as ... but not now because I'm suffering from lazyness.

The ROM you're applying the patch to?
As far as I know, the M3 version of the YI ROM is the same, as long as it's still labeled version 1.0 and (U). Just make sure it has a header.

If you want to be 100% sure it's the correct ROM, right-click the file > File Properties. If it says 2,097,664 bytes, one of two essential things is correct. Next, load the ROM in your Emulator. In case you use Snes9x it says so on start-up, in case not, you can look where it says ROM-Info in your Emulator. If it says "CRC-32 checksum: D138F224", then the second thing is correct as well and you have THE ROM you need for proper usage of hacking tools for Yoshi's Island. Note, that the CRC-32 checksum changes as soon as you change something in your ROM (except the header). So, check these two things directly after downloading the ROM.

Since this stuff has been asked quite often recently, maybe adding it to the FAQ v2 under Which Yoshi's Island ROM version do I need? makes sense.

I added a note about the CRC-32 checksum to the FAQ... does it look good to you now?
