Tip: If you're using the wall-running purple triangles in your hack, remember to add tile 1EB (or a tile that acts like tile 1EB) underneath it. Extended object 44/45 will include this tile for you.

@akacesfan It is an ok palette but it looks more swampy rather than oceanside, which is what that level looks like.

@mario's hat those are great. nothing wrong with them.

Hi, I have four things to show you...

These two palettes look like a sunset?

Ignore the colors of the pipes.

Some feedback would be nice.
I like the BG palettes (the third one is okay). I'd darken the purple in the water level.

Your palettes are certainly well-composed and fitting, I'll give you that. However, I see some things that I believe should be improved upon - the edge of the clouds in the first and second shot should be more orange instead of pink, and a little less saturation on the trees in the first shot wouldn't hurt. Also note that the edge of the hills in the first and second pictures is the same color as the hill, which looks bad.
The BG color for the third shot should be darker, because it doesn't fit well with the BG itself.

Other than that, though, nice work. The BG in the last shot is excellent, and it's very creative(a minor nitpick, but it's sort of plain in places) as well.
@lunatic
Only thing that bothers me is the color of your background in the 3rd screenshot.
It would probably look better if it was darker, like in the fourth screenshot (which in my opinion has a very nice looking background).
Otherwise, great job.

Now for something very boring:

I'm looking for ways to improve the palette on this.
I was thinking of making the Hills in the front a bit darker, and changing the BG color into either another type of blue, or a totally different color.

I'm not that great with palettes tough, so do you guys have any suggestions?
Lunatic Wolf: I'm really liking those palettes, but yes, the third background really should be darker.

BlackEagle766: It does look quite plain. Perhaps darkening the tone on the back hills? You could maybe lower the saturation on the Front hills.

And in other news, I made a small OW, it's not done yet, but I want some comments on the palette.

Anything I could improve?
wait, WAIT! why are we talking about palletes?! it's just color!

all that matters is the hack itself!

Sorry, but that is not quite true. What really matters about a hack is Gameplay and the GFX,which includes palettes.
@PowerStrike: I liked the grassland part, it's well done. To improve your OW, you can change the water palette (perhaps make it more bright and make appear the wave color). You can also change the color of the cliff, to make more it unique.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback.

I'm trying to improve the color, like you have said...

Are the goal sign and the water's pallete good?

Comments?
@Lunatic Wolf: Wow, really nice palettes! I especially like the water level palette, great job!

...because this is the palettes show-off thread?

Please refrain from making silly posts like this. Also, I nuked your 2.5 MB animated gif in your signature. Look over the rules please.
@Powerstrike, looks good but why it's the water so dark?

@Lunatic Wolf, now the BG colour is mixing with the whole background. Make the blue darker.
Here:

Ok, so I darkened the color of the cliffs a bit, and brightened up the water some to. I actually don't quite like the "waves" but I put them there so you can comment on that. (Oh and Wormer21, I happen to like dark water for SMW)

Edit: I would also like some comments on these:

1, 2, & 3: The FG and BG are kinda fighting each other. The polka-dots of the first background don't go well with the purple of the hill too.

4: This is just my pet peeve, but the tannish BG makes me think of...stuff. But that's just my humble opinion.

5: I'm not a fan of the purple background. Try using complementary colors of the FG color.

6: I'm liking it. It feels...I don't know...lively?
(Off-topic: The donut bridge on the right side is killing me. Maybe you should lower it so the curved edge won't make the bridge look like it's not intact.)

~

EDIT: I'm really curious on what people think of these palettes of mine:

Ok so here are my adjustments..

I was kinda looking for differences in colors from FG and BG, but oh well.

Giant_Shyguy:
I'm sorry, but I don't see anything in the first palette that is good.
Second one looks generic, but good.
Third one I like.
The forth one.. well, it just looks.. odd, can't place my finger on what.
Powerstrike: Loving all of those pallettes! The BG and FG's go so good together! Great work!

Giantshyguy: The first pallette is abit wierd due to all the black on the logs and doors however the other 3 are quite nice. They dont stray to far away from SMW's orignal colours but at the same time are different. Nice job!
One random ghost house palette:

Click
1UPdudes: Thanks!
Masterlink: Seems nice an eerie, I like it!

Now that's looking great now! I really like the new background from the third image.

1: Well, the first palette is a graveyard. I was aiming for an ominous feel, hence the purple. I'll try to fix it to make it look better.
2, 3: Thanks!
4: It's the brown spots right? :V

1: Yeah I get a lot of negative comments about the logs and the gravestones/doors. I know there are graveyard graphics in the GFX section, but they don't...feel SMW-ish. Anywho, should I change the logs and hedge stones' palettes, or should I replace them altogether?
2, 3, 4: Thanks! My hack is actually just Dinosaur Land, only the Yoshis have been banished, and Bowser and his kids have destroyed their parts of the land to their liking! So yeah.
@Masterlink: I love the palette, feels "dark". Two thumbs up.
@Giant_Shyguy the bg is a weird gradient, and the forest ground looks kind of stange as well. Not sure what else to say.

Here are two castle palettes.
