C:\Users\Guest\Desktop\Mario\SMW\xkas_v12\xkas\xkas.exe C:\Users\Guest\Desktop\Mario\SMW\powerdown\powerdown.asm

---------------------------------------------------------
I enter that in and I get this:
---------------------------------------------------------

xkas v0.12
usage: xkas output.bin input.asm

I am using command prompt. Am I doing anything wrong?
A demonstration would help.

No no no. You're supposed to use this one.

The command you use should be this:

C:\Users\Guest\Desktop\Mario\SMW\xkas_v12\xkas\xkas.exe C:\Users\Guest\Desktop\Mario\SMW\powerdown\powerdown.asm C:\Users\Guest\Desktop\Mario\SMW\powerdown\romname.smc

C:\Users\Guest\Desktop\Mario\SMW\zsnes151\docs\Adventure.smc

I type that in and get this:

Don't get anything else. Does this mean my ROM has been patched?

edit: yup. it has. thanks for your help!

I request a tutorial on how to make custom Layer 3 layers, such as rain and snow. If there is already something out there detailing about that, I'm sorry, but I couldn't find anything when I went searching. Thanks in advance.
I would like a HDMA tutorial.

I need to create some special effects to improve my hack and through my research HDMA is the only way to improve it. And when making this tutorial please be very clear and explain it simply (i can easily get confused).

To help who ever makes this tutorial I will tell what effect I'm going after. It's very simular to a effect in Donkey Kong Country 3 a cave area with water.

First part is a ripple effect. layer one to a certaint hieght on layer 1 but on layer 2 the ripple is a bit faster and the hight is a bit hiegher.
Second part is a slight transparentcy. Again up to the same points as said above for each layer.

hopefully this is clear to what i want.

Yes I'd loved to have one too :D
I would atcually like two:

1.) Using the N-SPC patch (mine worked randomly before, but won't work now).
2.) How to use sound samples for custom music.
How about a tutorial about making overworld sprites?

I looked through the few existing overworld sprites we have here, and I noticed something: Maxx and MrCheeze's were pretty simple, but Carol added a whole bunch more code to his. I don't actually have any sprites in mind, but this could be interesting.

Not a bad idea. It's on my list of research stuff to do. You MIGHT see it in the future.

I think a sprite Ex_GFX tutorial is needed.

And to explain a bit more, I just want someone to cover the basics of adding custom sprite Ex_GFX.

Well did you see one?
Again it's for the Title screen. You know the one which you can edit through the Ow editor.
I didn't see one...
Simply apply the exanimations to level C7.
ahh......
Why do I feel stupid now?
Thanks anyways :P

I feel really ridiculous asking this question. But I need to find out why is'nt my Zsnes playing any Romhacks. I tried the FAQ, did'nt get much info there...
Welcome to SMWCentral, Wiistar97! Hope you have a great time here.

Anyway, regarding your question. First off, I wouldn't recommend asking questions such as that in this section. It is preferred that you ask those somewhere such as Basic SMW Hacking. So, did you patch your IPS patch that comes with a download to a clean (unedited) version of SMW? You can do so by using Lunar IPS, selecting apply patch, and then first choosing the patch and then choosing the clean ROM. The clean ROM that you patched it to should have the proper data for the hack you want to play.

If you're not sure that the ROM you're patching to is clean, check it with this tool.
Sprite ripping tutorial please.
Just cover the basics and if you need anything special.
