Actually, I kinda know, what is the cluster sprite, but I don't know, how to use it. And how to make a sandstorm with it? I have some questions, I know. =/

Heh heh... the abandoned house looks pretty creepy. Makes me want to explore more around it.
The palette in the background is a bit too saturated for my taste though, it doesn't look the best, though I see what you're aiming for there.
And the other screens palette is pretty cool. You'd think that having that much green wouldn't work well, but it does. Awesome.
I like the different shades of ground, too.
Great work.

Thanks Kristian. Yeah, you're basically right, probably the color of the backgound was too dark. I enlightened it a bit:

I don't know if it's better or not.

I feel like showing off a few characters of the hack. These are the main characters, the most important persons of the story.
Mario

Obviously the main character, defeater of the Big Boo, hero of the Mushroom Kingdom. Typically a fearless man, who likes the adventures, and always wants to help the weak, unprotected people.
Old Toad

The leaders of the Toad people, and the oldest Toad at the same time. He's kind and warm-hearted, though he likes alcohol very much. Sadly he can't drink too much on the festival, because he's nervous because the Wand is lost. He knows a lot of things, though he didn't dare to touch the Wand.
Gwanto (The Big Boo's Chancellor)

Known from the earlier part, Gwanto is a stupid and coward 'servant' of the Big Boo. He respects his boss, but secretly he's megalomaniac too.
Viking Guy (?)

A mysterious, yet friendly man, who appears suddenly in a several parts of the hack. The best-informed man in this land, knows about a lot of secrets, and likes the big adventures. He always tries to help Mario.
Wily, the desert mage

He was the big, notorious mage of the desert, long time ago. But now, he lives in a ruined, raunchy house. Very clever and knows about a lots of things - about the wand, too. Friendly, and tries to help a lot.
The Big Boo (?)
[no picture]
Is he the thief of the wand? Actually, is he still alive? That'll be a secret for a while. All I can say, he wouldn't be less evil.
Oh yeah, and there are more...

Do I sense treachery? You know, where one lesser bad guy starts to turn against the others and becomes a real threat...

Heh, it's always fun to see the characters of games before playing. I also like how you didn't include a picture of the main antagonist, Big Boo. I definitely rememeber Gwanto, he was quite a funny character in the first Big Boo's Legion.
Hmmm, something tells me that Wily lives in the old/abandoned house...
Anyway, pretty nice ideas with the characters, Hadron. Hope to see more stuff soon!

Thanks Construct and LPY! I really appreciate it.
Yeah, LPY, you guessed well, he lives there.
Eh, I really can't stand not posting new stuff, though I want to keep secrets too. This is a forest level I made today...
Do you like the palettes? The background is from Megaman X (Sting Chameleon stage), I just changed the colors.

C'mon little Bob-omb! It won't hurt...too much.

RUN!

This is the end point I guess...

A cloudy sublevel (slow auto-scroll). And no, I'm not that egoistic *runs*

Anyways, send me to hell, because I can't keep my pictures for myself. Gah.

Thanks Construct, LPY and aj6666! I really appreciate your comments.
So, I made a new level today. I'm a bit proud now, I think I did a quite good work on this. Hope you like it.
This is my first "real" athletic type level I ever made, but very enjoyable in my opinion.
<object width="445" height="364"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JDAsm6QYcs0&hl=en_US&fs=1&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JDAsm6QYcs0&hl=en_US&fs=1&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="445" height="364"></embed></object>
Oh yeah, next level will be a cave level I guess.
And now, with this, I'm done with 20 levels for this hack! Isn't it wonderful? About a half of year, and I made that many levels. If I count so, that I want about 40-50 levels, the hack will be done in a half year or a bit more.

That's quite the impressive demonstration! Gotta love that Touhou 8 music. I think I used it in a couple of levels in my hack.
Those "close calls" add a little more thrill to the video.

I've been checking this thread for a while now, and I must say that you sure are doing an excellent job with this hack - this actually looks even better than the first one, which already had blown me away due to the enjoyable level design and whatnot.
I know I mentioned this before at some point, but I really think your level design is definitely one of the best around here - the levels you have thrown together so far really do look spectacular, really... especially the abandoned temple level you showed off a while ago, which seemed to stand out the most to me. "Sunset Trip" doesn't look bad at all, though - in fact, it actually looks fairly excellent, considering you whipped it up in a day only.
My only nitpick would be the SFX played by the Dragon Coin-like objects you've got there... it kind of sounds out of place to me. Instead, I would possibly roll with a sound effect like the one played when a path is triggered on the OW, or something like that... but don't bother to leave it that way if you want to - the hack's yours, after all. On the other hand, I simply adore the new midway bar SFX. Neat-o.
But yeah, overall, this is shaping up to be a superb hack. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on this thread.

Wow, fast comments!
The Thunder: thanks, yeah, I "manipulated" a bit the video (it's tool assisted, I re-recored a few times for the better look).
RomHaxMax: Thanks! The palette was about 5 minutes to make, I think it's really easy. ;)
Broozer: Wow, wow, thanks for this long comment!
The first part was very nooby in my opinion. Now this is something better! Though there aren't too many "epic, new, never seen before" things in it, I try to do my best.
Yeah, I've been thinking on this, I really suck at drawing graphics, I have not too much time/mood to learn ASM or music porting, so I guess I'll go with my level design, some good palettes and the story. I guess I do these pretty well in this hack, so I don't have to fear of anything.
I'm really surprised too, that I could finish two (!!) levels in two days! That's freaking fast from me, just read my earlier post. I am done with 20 levels in a half year hehe.
Yeah, you're probably right with that SFX. I think I'll go to change that, because I noticed it, that it's a bit annoying after a while. And I'm glad that you like the mid-way point SFX. =)
So, thanks guys for the comments, I'm really glad that you like what I make (again).

All the awesome stuff always happens when I'm doing my homework!
Anyway, very, very nice job with that level, Hadron. The format is so simple, (since most of the platforms are mushrooms) but it has a great sense of level design. The down-ward ascent was quite interesting as well...
The music fit perfectly with the level. The music made you feel as if your life depended on you beating that level extremely fast. Which was great for an athletic level!
The palettes were great too. The white mushrooms looked a little too silver though. Then again, they did match with the BG, so I guess they're fine.
Altogether it's a very nice level. Good job!
(Woah, TWO levels?! The best I've ever done is just one level! Than again, you probably don't have a mother who hogs the computer so much that it's like she's attached to it...)

Thanks again, LinksPetYoshi.
Gah, I got lazy with my hack in the past few days/weeks. But I still have a few little screenshots, but do not expect too much in the near future.
This will be a forest-y level, not too important.

And here's a picture of another level, its title is 'Dark Ocean'.
