Hello guys..
I wonder if SMRPG hacking is dead, haven't seen Omega and Gian for quiet some time already, yet I keep on hoping. Anyway, I'm here to yet demonstrate what Lazy Shell can do, and at the same time present my hack.
It's called Super Mario RPG Expansion TC or Total Conversion. As the name, this hack is a total revamp of the game. New story, new characters, different spell assignments, new spells, new enemies and bosses, and some new maps.

More Screenshots
These are just teasers. I will keep you guys posted. Please give me feedback whenever you can.

Hmm, seems like a good hack you're making. This seems to be the best hack someone has been making. Keep up the good work!

Thanks...
It's still on its early phase. I am planning to make it more SMB like. So expect some blocks that spawns coins and beanstalks to appear.
It may take me quiet some time considering the amount of conversion needed, but I hope the wait could be justified. Btw, I am looking for map makers, if anyone interested their maps to be included, pls. let me know.

Bye bye.. ROM is destroyed!
Thanks to some intensive event script editing, and ASM hack. LOL.
Without Lazy Shell, I guess I'll go back to the old fashion way of hack.. Hex editor.

Thanks Troopa, I had already picked a name, and I think "Bane Bane" is an ideal name for a sewer level packing with poisonous denizens and gases.
Here's the update:

Wario's dialogue is a little unfitting with his personality, don't you think? He would be the last person I would think to say "For heaven's sake"
Speaking of which, hey, do you need help with story or writing? I specialize in that.

Sure Troopa. I am not very much familiar with Wario, and how he behaves. That's why it's kinda off.
Anyway, what would you suggest for an alternate text? or what do you think would be the most fitting words for him in that scenario?
PM me your comments or drop me a comment on my blog.
Thanks..

I can explain to you how he acts: Extremely selfish and greedy. It's really that simple. He's willing to do ANYTHING as long as it gets him money. So basically, his dialogue would do well being kinda rude, snarky, uncaring, impatient, selfish, etc. Look up some YouTube videos of Wario: Master of Disguise for an example. I think Wario's dialogue there is VERY fitting of his character.

I've rehash his dialogue as Troopa suggested. I've made him more sinister. The only reason why he cares about Mario there in the hack is because he needs Mario for a certain purpose. He won't be able to make ends meet without the Mario bros.
By the way, I'm almost done with Bane Bane Sewer's main levels.. This level is actually huge as it connects to other parts of the map, and there are side quests to be done here.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
-A poison filled room (courtesy of giangurgolo/Omega's Bob-omb Mafia hack
-Killer gases
-The classical Pitfalls
-A boss at the end
-Surprises
Some may find the hack too difficult. Well, it's really intended to be that way. However, once you reach the right levels, it's really not that tough.

Is it just me or the progress of this hack is really quick?

Actually it's slow. But, I'm trying to finish it as fast as I can, however hacking SMRPG is tougher than hacking SMW, and it's going to take some more time. Hack is only at 15% complete. =(

It took me a day or too to study the LS' Sprite Editor and I'm happy to let you guys know that I was successful in adding the Wario's sprite. See my blog..

Oh wow. I tried to do that, myself, using the current Lazy Shell, and it utterly failed on me, because Wario requires the Tilemap setting and some molds, but using that makes them mess up when reloaded...and in the worst cases, they crash whenever they try to load, effectively meaning you just make that animation unusable. I just did that a little while ago, myself...
So, did the unreleased build of Lazy Shell fix that problem or what?

Actually I am only using the Unofficial Build for spell hex references and fixing the corrupted level maps. The Unofficial build has many bugs from v.1.0 that hasn't yet been fixed, that includes the v.1.0 sprite editor bugs. We may have to wait for the real thing.
With the Wario sprite, and the event scripts, all of them had been done on v.1.0.
I'm going to beta test the game if there are graphic errors, but since I've overwrite the sprite found near the end of the compressed graphics offset, I think the only graphic that I would mess up is the ending scenario.
ROM hacking is terrible. There are so many limitations. After this hack, I guess I'll move on to RPG Maker and Game Maker.
