Wow...I really like that video of yours. The graphics are nice, and the music very fitting (and I don't just say that because it's my port. :P) The Layer 3 background and HDMA looks incredibly nice and give the background much more depth. YI samples are very fitting here, by the way. ;)
Love your new enemy graphics too. You have a neat style.

Indeed. The koopas walk upright, like their modern selves, yet you've still retained a SMB3-feel for them. Good job.

Thanks Jimmy and ChaoticFox, I'm glad you like the new enemy GFX xD. NOW! Here's a preview of 2-2 (the foreground is not staying, I'm going to try for a more forest-y one).

Whoa, what's going on here? I like it and I don't. It seems very crowded, and it's a little hard to tell the enemies apart from the background. Also, I see you were going for a sunset HDMA effect in the background, but it seems a bit too bright for the rest of the background.

Ooh. That sunset gradient is very nice. The background looks a little too complex, but it is also very nice.
The foreground fits well with the background, though I have to agree with ChaoticFox, the enemy kind of blends in with the background.

Actually, there's no sunset gradient, there's a brightness gradient and I made it so the actually screen is a bit darker than normal too, I think the enemies would blend in a bit less if I lightened it up.
EDIT:

EDIT2: I was messing with the BG Color and I absolutely LOVE the way this turned out.

Uh, yeah, I would go with the background color in the second screen - I also reckon it stands out more than the yellow-y background palette you had whipped up before... it sort of gives an "eerie" vibe to the level, and I liked it.
Overall, I'm really liking the look of this hack... been following this thread since you created it, and I must admit that this hack is one of the most fascinating WIP hacks I've seen in a while. Everything in it looks simply wonderful, and I'm especially fond of how well those enemie GFX came out... they seem to mantain pretty much the same style the rest of the graphics you are using do, and zero style clash is just gold.
Excellent job, fella, excellent job.

Hey guys, still no big updates, I've been really lazy lately, but I messed around with Mario's palette a bit and I think it looks a little better than before.

EDIT: Actually I have a little more for you, here's an SPC of J.J.'s port of Stickerbrush Symphony, resampled with YI samples.

Heh. I've gotten that it sounds weird a lot, but I happen to like it a lot. I guess I have a weird/bad taste in music xD.
EDIT: I changed the Fire Mario palette, and made the falling pose look MUCH better in my opinion, hope you like it.

Thanks Zkip, now for some updates xD.
New Layer 3 in 2-2
I happen to really love the way this came out, enjoy.

Okay. Next update. There will be a slight change of plans for world 1, "Dangerous Dinos!" will be out of world one, and will be modified for a different world later in the game, because at the moment the level is becoming extremely boring and uninspired. Instead, I will have a water level using SMB3's layer 3 water. This level starts where Sunset Sprint ends, here's a screenshot of the ending of Sunset Sprint.

That's all for now, if I remember anything else I've done, I'll edit this post or make a new one if I get comments. ENJOY!

I can't say I'm too fond of the sand FG(not the FG itself, it looks great, but IMO it would fit a desert much better than a jungle.). Maybe go for a more grassy FG?
By the way, the Layer 3 looks great.

Spud, as I stated earlier in the thread, the FG is absolutely not going to stay, if you have recommendations for a better one, please tell me.

OH BOY DOUBLE POST!
*shot*
Anyway. I decided, since I was unlevelspired, to learn the magical art known as ASM. Yeah that's right.. I LEARNED SOME ASM. That's quite surprising, even to me considering I'm terrible at learning things (especially programming languages). ANYWAY! That's enough about me. Here's a picture of my title screen. It scrolls through the entire 1-1 with Atland music, from Lagoon playing. Mario is not seen or heard, and the blue sky HDMA is replaced with a sunset one.

NOW.. showing off some of my ASM skills, I present to you, a wonderful video (not really) of my new red coin system.. Credits to Roy for help with the code.
