I'm looking for a good game based off of an anime or something that has a story like one. I don't care what kind of game it is, but I'd like an RPG or metroidvania kind of game (I've never played a metroidvania game, and I'd like to try one).

Persona 3 and 4 have a lot of anime cliches and slice-of-life sort of moments, especially Persona 4.

You should like Disgaea then.

Anyone looking for some arcade fun should try Super Crate Box.
It's original, it's challenging, it's free, easy to pick up and play and chaotic.
Oh and buy Portal 2 now.

Hey all, I'm sort of looking for a fun simple platform game for PC, sort of like VVVVVV, Cave Story, Rosenkreuzstilette and Braid. Whether its an actual profit making game (Braid) or just something small and simple (VVVVVV) Id appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

You could try Frogatto, it's a free, simple and fun platform game. I really like the retro-ish graphics of it too.

^Your best bet is to search something like "retro flash games". That should give you some results.
I'm trying to decide between what game to buy: Terridia or Minecraft. I've seen both games and both look pretty good, but I only want to buy one for now. Can anyone tell me which one is better?

Buy Terraria if you're not so interested in the building aspects - it does a lot of other things better.
Buy Minecraft if you enjoy building awesome structures.
Buy both if you have good taste in games.

Alright, thanks for the recommendations guys.
Also, I'm looking for some new NES and SNES games. I usually play either platform, puzzle, rpg, or fighter games and want to try a combination of big-named titles (Metroid and Kid Icarus for example) as well as some of the more underrated games (can't think of some off the top of my head) Any suggestions?

Terraria is more expansive than Minecraft, and it focuses more on combat.
Minecraft focuses more on building.

If you have a Wii there's a neat little platform game on the VC by the name of DoReMi Fantasy: Milon's Doki Doki Adventure. Its pretty interesting for a platformer and very engaging. Plus it has some awesome music, IMO. Just a word of warning it is an export game that isn't translated, so if you don't mind that then it should be okay.

I'm on the lookout for an involved Action RPG, similar to Kingdom Hearts or one of the Bethesda RPGs (Fallout and Oblivion), preferably for the playstation 3. I've played games like Gothic, and I really like expansive games. Any suggestions?

It isn't all that expansive, it is level-based and not open world, but Demon's Souls easily has the best combat of any action rpg this gen. Fair warning though: it's hard like a bitch.

Very good SRPG with a branching storyline.

I'm looking for a good tactical RPG to play; I have something like the Final Fantasy Tactics series, Tactics Ogre, etc. in mind. Thanks if anyone can recommend a good one to me! I would prefer it be free (or a ROM), but I'm open to games that cost money, too.
