When you're making a thread, you're making it because you've searched high and low for the answer and you can't solve it yourself. When you establish that it might be a complicated question to answer, you make a thread. Not all questions go into the YI FAQ thread. It's moreorless for times when you know the question is extremely simple or you need something.

Jeorge probably thought his question was complicated, hence he made a thread. Nothing wrong with that.
