I've recently been trying to insert the Classic Piranha Plant into my hack. A few weeks ago, I managed to replace the fish stem graphics and apply the fix patch, and I also made the two recommended hex edits (changing 101D7 and 101CC to OA). Everything worked fine until I re-inserted the altered graphics. The plants showed up all right, but my Charging Chuck graphics and--to my horror--my Yoshi graphics became glitched. This happened AFTER I used the Insert Graphics Into ROM... function. Does anyone know why my Chuck and Yoshi graphics are glitched, and, if so, how I can circumvent this problem?

For some reason half the time that patch glitches up the graphics but as long as you extracted the GFX files before you apply the patch you can reinsert them and it will be fine.

Oh, I see. I'll give it a try. Thanks for your help!
EDIT: I finally got it working! The problem was that my SP3 in those levels had been 82, rather than what they should have been. That was left over from when I had custom sprites in my hack. Good Lord, talk about something going unnoticed for a long time.
