I thought since there is a palette showoff thread in Super Mario World Hacking discussion, and palette editing is possible in Yoshi's Island, I decided to create the thread in this forum. That way many people can download the palettes someone made made without going from page to page in the Screenshots/Video thread just to find it. Not sure if it will work, though.

I think this will be quite useful for those who wish to have custom palettes in their levels so they don't have the same colours over and over again (since it's a bit more tedious to edit the layer colours in Eggvine than SMW). I recall a thread similar to this being made, but I don't think it was solely to show off palettes.
I'll sticky it for now.

This is already easy 
I like editing Layer 2 and Layer 3 Palettes most.
BTW: Did you just edit the colors or did you add them?

They look good, but there's a trick to be able to edit the shoe-colors. This is a very tedious method you must change the shoes' graphics in YY-CHR. I've managed to do this. I plan to give each Yoshi of my Extra-levels an unique color. (Nobody steals this, or I'll shoot you!!)

A similar method was used in SMW2+2.
But I plan to give each Yoshi of each Extra an unique color. Means, for Extra 1 he gets an orange color, or for Extra 2 Gray, for Extra 3 White, for Extra 4 black and so on, so I have 14 different Yoshi-colors in the end. 8levels+6extras

The Yoshi colors used within levels can be assigned on a per-level basis. However, the map screen sprites are shared between every world but World 6 (although this isn't a problem for Yoshi's Fan, because Extra Level Yoshis don't appear on the map).
SMW2+2 was capable of using 16 different Yoshi colors with the ASM tweaks I made, but only 12 were used in the end.

There were 11. He likely just miscounted.

There are actually 13 unique Yoshi colors in SMW2+2. Orange Yoshi is unused, but I thought that the White Yoshi was left in (only gray and black survived).

Here's a small something I whipped up - I will probably be using it in my level 1-1, albeit I'm still not 100% sure:
 
On a slightly different note... I think I have a crush on Golden Egg. It just has all the appeal Eggvine brutally lacked - not to mention that it's still beta.

Oh man Broozer, those BG + palette combos are awesome. It sorta gives off the "old times" look, maybe due to the sepia-ish tone going on. I say keep it.
Would love to see what else you have.

I actually don't have anything else to show off other than that at the moment... yeah, all I did YI-related since a long time was play around with Golden Egg a bit and cook up that BG palette in SNESPal. I plan on making a hack out of it eventually, though, and I truly hope this one will last longer than the others to say the least, especially since school will finish for me in two weeks... which means more time to work on it. ;)
