Yeah, I'm asking myself, too, how far you've got with YIKR2. Any updates or probable release date/month? The hack seems to be frozen, since there hasn't been any updates for the last few months.
@Carl Sagan: Your TASes definitely are ftw.
Also, @Sagittaire: Zeldara is a female hacker

you shouldn't expect her to finish this hack she's not called lady of incompleteness for nothing on her profile she always starts a hack but will never finish it so don't expect her to finish this hack

I'd find that pretty sad.
I'm actually the complete opposite of her: I have the urge to finish everything I start and I'm a perfectionist, so I'm only satisfied once everything works as best as possible; she really seems to be the Lady of Incompleteness and she also makes intentionally glitchy hacks; furthermore she's a girl
I still hope for a completed overwork of the YIKR1, so it's finally possible to go for 5400 pts.

Beastly242/Otabo has already done a 100% video playthrough, and I noticed like 20 things that still need to be fixed when watching it (also, a few other people have reported something that wasn't visible in that playthrough). I just still haven't gotten around to actually modifying them yet.
I can assure you though: If I care about finishing something (which I do for this, it's so close already), I will finish it, unless I have a very good reason not to. It just sometimes... takes me a while. (I really didn't expect this to still not be done after 2 years, though...)
(I haven't actually done any YI hacking in the last year, other than fixing that 4-2 flower, and creating this video using some of tehaxor69's hex-edits.)

Good news, it's really not that urgent to me, just wanted to know whether to expect updates in the future.

I'm going to cry if my TAS doesn't sync whenever 5-E is finished. If you want to be really nice to me, make a version with 5-E added and nothing else to make sure, or I might not be able to include it in my full game TAS
More TAS updates:

1-6: http://youtu.be/B3KOQsDdox0 (very fun!)

I really doubt the TAS would sync on v2.0-- I still need to make a variety of minor changes that, although most of them will be pretty much unnoticeable to the average player (moving items slightly to prevent item memory glitches, removing/replacing an enemy or extending a level to reduce lag, that sort of thing), they'd all probably desync a TAS.
I guess whenever Extra 5 is finished, I could make a v1.96+ or something, that's exactly the same as v1.96 except with Extra 5's level data updated...
It may be a good idea to add the version number to your video titles (or descriptions) by the way. (Also, nice crazy egg juggling.)

1.96+ would be awesome Zeldara Though I understand if it's extra work and you don't have time to get around to it.

Or if anyone would prefer a world 1 smv: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1874719791/KR1-8_Done.smv
Are any of the levels currently impossible to beat on 100%?

Only Extra 5. As long as you're using the version from after I updated 4-2 last July.
A few items can still disappear, making the level impossible without restarting (for example, the flower in 2-3's first room will disappear if you collect the coin directly above it, then scroll the flower off-screen), but that shouldn't be a problem in a TAS.

Isn't it clearly stated in the first post that the patch needs to be applied to a (V1.0) (U) ROM? It's obviously not going to work with any Japanese or European version...
Anyway, the most common issue with patching is that you've applied a patch intended for a headered ROM to a headerless ROM, but I already created a separate patch that should work with a headerless ROM... Assuming you actually do have a (V1.0) (U) ROM, and you tried the patch corresponding to its file size, I have no idea what the problem is.
What do you mean when you say it's not working? When you open the patched ROM in the emulator, does it act like the original game, freeze immediately, freeze after a while, not open at all, or what? And have you successfully played any other hacks?

I get the ding sound although the words are glitchy and then nothing.
i actually have better results with European and Japanese versions. In japan I can get as far as file select, and in European i can choose language.

I said, you need to use a (V1.0) (U) ROM, using the patch corresponding to its file size (2097152 or 2097664). The other ROM versions are structured differently, so the patch will overwrite unrelated data and cause the game to crash. If it seems to play farther, it's just a coincidence.
If you are using the correct version, I still have no idea what the problem is. Which emulator (including the version number) are you using?

Snes9x
v 1.4.0.0

That's... a really old version of Snes9x. Have you tried a newer version?

Zeldara, I'm wondering... Will you release the full 2.0 version anytime soon or is the project frozen? Seeing the level table it's only three levels to go...

I don't know. I haven't felt like working on this in quite a while (it's mainly that I still need to add enemies and other obstacles to Extra 5, the other fixes should go quickly enough but I don't see a point in releasing v1.97 as opposed to v2.0).
And I've had other, more important priorities lately (unrelated to hacks or games of any kind). (Not sure if you pay attention to my YouTube channel, but my video uploading rate has also been substantially lower than it used to be.) A lot of the reason why I've worked on hacks is to relieve stress (which I've had plenty of in the past several years, for various reasons that I'd prefer not to discuss), and the pressure of finishing this project was actually increasing that level of stress...

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to browbeat you, Zeldara.
As for the importance of progress, it can't even be close to the importance of your life.
I wish you the best of success for getting over the stress and the source of your stress.
