Okay, I've never worked with music before, and I'm wondering something: if you need to use MIDI files, why do you need to link to a .mid file when you make a request? Couldn't you just use the file you're linking to instead of making a request? Or am I missing something...
You can make a request of his songs, you just need to know her name, the rest take care of other people. But first you need to make sure that she has been home for that, go in the session of songs, press Ctrl + F on your keyboard and go searching for the songs.
Um...I'm not exactly sure what the post above mine was trying to say (I sense a language barrier, though, so no one's at fault).

A MIDI file is necessary when making requests because not everyone who ports music has the ability or the time to sit down and write out a MIDI from scratch. Because ear-porting is so difficult, it is just standard policy to provide a MIDI when making a request; it just saves time for everyone.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, though. Do you already have a MIDI and want to use it as custom music? If so, you can link to that in your request, if you upload the MIDI to your Files.

(As an aside, I am a music porter, and if you want to send your file to me for evaluation and assistance, feel free to do so.)
I think I know what you're saying. You're asking why you can't just take the MIDI and convert it, right? The thing is, you can't just take a MIDI, put it in tinymm, and be done. You must loop the song, add an intro, set volume and instruments, and flip the octaves. There are a few more as well, but you get the idea. There is much more to porting than to have a MIDI.
I've been seeing a fair number of custom music questions lately. I understand that there are abou seven different custom music guides, but would anyone like me to put another one together? I think people need to learn by example, and my proposed guide would teach people how to turn a MIDI into custom music by actually doing it.

Is this a good idea?

If you can be better than previous tutorials, then yes. If you do it, try to include nearly everything (which I don't think any tutorials have done so far), including N-SPC commands, intros, etc.
Well...we'll see what happens. I don't like to give redundant advice, so I'll give it some thought.
Correct, because the tinymm has a great ability to convert a midi to fully smw, if it were so, the program would be very heavy, and nothing would come out perfectly, and also would end the employment of porters music, like me.
Dude, I just contacted an admin about this.
