Hello and welcome to the thread of my project, please take sit meanwhile I present the project:

This is the project I have been working since I join to SMWC, it has been restarted about 5 times, and with each failure, I learned something new that make my hack a lot better, so, let`s get started.

My hack has no name by the moment, and the plot is going well:

"After the events of SMW, Mario returned to the Mushroom Kingdom, after a party of welcome he received a letter, telling him that a far land was in trouble, and they need Mario help, after taking a short nap, Mario prepared for the journey to see what is causing the problem in that land..."

This will be a 1 player hack, so no Luigi, also, it will have custom bosses, so neither Roy or Lemmy and Co.

Also, forget the typical "damsel in distress", so expect a custom Final boss and credits.

Now, to show some of the features:
-Each submap will have it`s own characteristics, so expect a wide gameplay.
-Custom Blocks
-Custom Enemies
-Custom Music
-Mario will have HP
-ASM implements
-HIGH replay value, once you finish the game, you can complete it again with something special to do...
-Unlockables
-And more is to come.

Now, the first two images of the game:


This is the Main Overworld, each area leads you to an elemental submap, there are 5 areas, so 5 different gameplays.
Also, the star at the bottom is inactve at the moment, but it will have a great importance on the game.

And the first level:

As you can see, there are two custom blocks active, themetal turnblock will start turning only if hitted from the sides, and the other one should be pretty obvious what is it`s function.

And some Final Notes:

The others Submaps already have a path setted, but I need to design them.

Your OW is very square, and the giant water area is completely empty. There is also cutoff on the brown part of land, as well as incorrect tiles above Mario.

EDIT: In the upper-left corner of the level, I see an incorrect corner tile.

Oh, thanks, I didn`t noticed about the incorrect tiles, as for the "squarity" of my OW, I`am aware of that, as this is only an earlier version of my OW, it will get better with the time.

FAKEDIT: Master S, thanks for the feedback on the blocks, expect to see a lot of them in the hack, each one with several qualities.

EDIT: 2tech, I will fulfill the giant space of water, this is not the final version of my OW, and that area is already reserved for something else, consider this OW a version 0.2.

Comments on the plot, images, feedback, complaints? I would like to make this hack free of errors.

As I said before, each submap will have a different gameplay, here are the details.

Earth: It will need P-Switches to complete the level, kinda like a maze.

Ice: Prepare your jumping abilities, this level will have tricky jumps.

Water: You will need something to unlock the path to the goal, also, try not to stay on the water for too long.

Wind: This kind of levels can be completed in several ways, they have up to 3 paths to play each level.

Fire: There is no turning back on this levels, why? because they have auto-scroll. And no, there will be no fast sscroll.

You know me at the Spanish Thread. We need see more of this for judge this. However the pallete of the cave is just nice.
I`m working on the Main Overworld to make it look more nice, also, I`m working on levels, I am only going to release demo, and will two levels from each element (One on the Main OW and another on it`s cirresponding submap) to show the gameplay of each Area.

Thanks also for the palette commentary, expect to see more palettes like this trought the whole game and lots of surprises and unlockables.

Here is an update:

-The hack will feature at least 50 levels.

-It will have custom music.

-It will feature various Custom Bosses, as well semi-bosses.

-Mario will gain abilities as he continues in his adventure.

-No more 2 hit and die, Mario will start with 3 HP and will eventually getting more HP until you get 10 HP, and believe me, you WILL need them (Unless you are one of those that completes the Kaizo hacks with the eyes closes)

-This is uncomfirmed, but at least will have a half of Map16 page of Custom Blocks.

-Puzzles, jumps, time, platforms, bosses, and more...

Uncomfired Name:

"Gaming Secret Stories"
The name maybe change, but It will make a serie.

So... this is the situation until now:

The project WON`T be cancelled, it`s just being delayed and worked on a very slow pace due the next issues:

-I`m learning to use LM 1.71 new features, and I`m going to continue it in that version.
-There aren`t a lot of gameplay images, so... until the fully adaptation to LM 1.71, this thread will be on sleeping state.

However... here is a litle update:
-The OW & Submaps are nearly done, also, the hack name will be "G.S.A", in the next update, I will tell why the name, this name is official, and for the level screen you have seen, it`s going to have a few little changes of my new tricks I just learned.

G.S.A... remember it.
don't know if you corriged on this, but i see some prespective errors on the OW:





1- that black space is used for somethig? if not you should insert more water tiles
2- well, the island where is mario, it is 4 tiles hig, and the higer island, it is 7 i think. then , the union can't be like the one you did. you should make the union with the two islands higer, like this:

3-how the land meets the water
4-the union with the two islands.

and all the other look great!
