Okay, I've updated this hack today, and various other contributors have sent in their levels and what not. I do need some help putting all this stuff together, because a certain member has sent me about 15 level submissions complete with ExGFX and stuff, and I need someone to move the content to different Map 16 pages and what not.
But today, my main updates are:
1. Different arena for Fawful boss.
2. Glowing Screen sprite added and used for Power Cut Peril instead of the on/off switch idea.
3. Diagonal moving Thwomps added.
I will add another Cave Story boss, probably the other Iggy Koopa boss released, the Danmaku generator and maybe the Thunder Lakitu boss at a later time.

Part of Power Cut Peril:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-jSsy3Vs45U&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-jSsy3Vs45U&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Good luck to anyone who might attempt that level. It's easier to see in game (videos almost always make it too dark to see much), but never the less, it's absolute hell to get through.
P.S. I forgot to mention, the shown bit is the easy bit at the beginning. Soon it starts scrolling upwards at high speed... then you start flying... and then you start going through huge death mazes of blood red spikes at fairly high speed as a form of Balloon Mario. Then there's a boss fight.

Yeah, I'm afraid that would give me a headache if I played that level too long. The flashing is too fast. Try to make it like the Blackout Basement level in Donkey Kong Country.

Yeah, I'll slow the flashing effect down a fair bit. Oh, and keep in mind that the Youtube video quality isn't exactly how it appears in game. Just that most forms of video seem to not pick up dark levels well, and Youtube's low file quality doesn't help much in the least.

That is far too dark. As mario fan suggested, I would make it like blackout basement in DKC.

for it being a kaizo, i think thats fine.
cheat, maybe not slow it but if you can vary the flashing... like a light about to go out
i really like your levels, and concidering this being the hardest in the hack, its my favourite just for the design of it. good music choice by the way

Well, I certainly tried something new:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bJwDv6jTC1w&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bJwDv6jTC1w&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I might also make an actual level based on Haunted Hall with Kackle and the actual rails as foreground or something too, if I can find somewhere to take the foreground from. As for the weird enemies in the level in the video... I was bored and wanted something different to the normal boring ghost house.
[Boss not shown, although it's even less normal].

1. You can see the bottom of the Piranha plants under the floor. Why not just use a Pipe?
2. The brick walls are cut off at the top and bottom.
Other than these things, that looks like a good level. Also, what's with the big red Boo that flashes up for about a split second?

1. Okay.
2. Will be fixed.
As for the Big Boo... bomb boo effect I think. I'd love to know how to just disable those graphics, because the enemy sprite is cool but the the graphics clash slightly.

Alright, as the title says, I think I'm nearing released, and I'm now adding the last few requested levels. Almost all sound effects now have custom music, I'm adding custom music on a per level basis and I just need a few things:
1. Final level
2. The last few level submissions (seriously people, hurry the hell up with sending me the files, it's holding people up here!)
3. A few patches to be added like the cluster patch, mode 7 game over, Mario All Stars health patch and some problematic graphics and palettes fixed.
But yes, new stuff:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/x7wkuuhWAOg&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/x7wkuuhWAOg&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5X70U4zYAxk&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5X70U4zYAxk&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
^cut off will be fixed soon, it was just out of view in the editor because it was behind something in the level.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zxR--xGibs0&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zxR--xGibs0&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
^ A secret level you get for finding a secret level. It exists only to give a few 1 ups, but I thought anything would be better than just a one screen room with rewards ala the Top Secret Area.
Ignored some glitched stuff, I think it's because I edited the Dry Bones graphics and it overwrote part of the wooden spike graphics. I need to remap that somehow.
Note: To any LPers, please don't watch any videos. Really, otherwise you'll figure out pretty much the entire game start to finish.
So in about a week or two, expect people like NinjaBoy to actually get the finished version.
Alright, three more levels need sending...

In the bonus level i think that you have to change the rock (that explode with a bomb explosion in SMB2 with the bridge tiles)
In the custom fort section there is a floating giant firebar in the second 35.
Also why don't put beta testers before the release and try to put more decoration, and improve bad level design section. I think that this could be a good hack but you need to polish it a lot. Take all time you need to polish it and probably it could be well received here.
Also in the haunted house the stems of the venus firetraps is floating, add blocks to hide those horrible floating stems.

I've got testers, it's just they're.. kind of absent at the moment due to real life issues.
But all issues will be fixed.

I can still beta test if you want IT might just take 1 or 2 days since the difficulty is high and I would need to try every thing for the levels and see every area. So expect the testing to get done shortly after you PM the final version to me.

You can be a beta tester, although you slightly overestimate how close this hack is to 100% completion. I still need to add some more levels and fix all the errors pointed out yet, and add some patches and maybe cluster sprites again.
But you can definitely test if you want, and it shouldn't take too long to do so.

Alright, I added this level mariowings77 made to the hack for the last world:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NobNUhBaKOo&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NobNUhBaKOo&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
You wanted Kaizo type hard, this is hard. I still need to know how to finish it though, the maker has kinda quit Mario hacking halfway through designing it, so it's all up to me finish the level now.
I would still like to remind a few people they need to hurry up and send the missing levels...

Okay, may as well update... no luck on getting some of the level submissions, but I've got someone making unique sprite graphics and those will be added sooner or later.

Okay, new update with some new levels! First of all, one I won't show here has Brutal Mario type graphics and such based on some RPG game or so, and the Fry Guy sprite from the sprites section as the boss. It looks very 3Dish and quite nice.
Secondly, the more interesting one, I'm trying to remake the Perfect Run from Super Mario Galaxy 2 in 2D. Here's the first three sections, because I suck a lot and can't get past the third section yet:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/weA0v6Sn1SA&hl=en_GB&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/weA0v6Sn1SA&hl=en_GB&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
It has most of the original music used (Gusty Garden Galaxy and Good Egg Galaxy music for the first/second/third/fourth sections and the Comet Observatory music for the empty planet thing at the end with the star/goal sphere, but I need to find someone who can make the Bowser's Galaxy Reactor music for the Hammer Bros section.
If it looks easy, I'll be adding scrolling to the first section (and some more enemies). You also can't see the strong wind in the third section sending you off to the right, which has killed me about fifty times so far.
I plan to also add some more levels, but am severely running low on graphics space. Big time here, as in, I have about two pages left for foregrounds (but tons of room left for backgrounds).
