Tip: If it's possible to carry a tileset-specific sprite (such as a Buzzy Beetle or Bob-omb) through a pipe, make sure it has the correct graphics and sprite palette on the other side!

Cool fg neutron. i like the way you used them, but try making the cracks a little more subtle because the pure black sorta clashes with the style of the fg. like make the cracks like the ones on the pillar.

Nice level Neutron. I agree with %N too about the cracks. And the BG combo is very fitting.

Marhi: That cave is epic. I just really like the design and that palette. I also like that gimmick at the end with the 1up. Excellent work!
Done in paint, but it'll be put in SMW, don't you worry.



Some parts are subject to change of course (the palette and Larry's graphics are almost definatly going to be changed).

Both Larry and the background animate, but I can't get the BG animation to sync properly with LM1.71's ExAnimation system.

I still plan on redrawing Larry, but thats a job for another day.

I guess the cracks were the only not good thing about the GFX. Well, there's a program named YY-CHR for some reason.

Lotica, not bad. I really like the palette.
I know I showed this on the "ExGFX thread" but I made this "test" level to use in my hack Super Mario Land 4 as a bonus level.
ExGFX made myself, the BG was ripped from Earthworm Jim.

It is hard to define what is the FG for some parts of rainbow road.

Alright, that level is just awesome Lexator. The BG is preety sweet. But as JDC said, it's hard to define what is the solid FG.
P.S. SHINY!!!
Lexator-It looks pretty hard to find what's solid and what isn't, but the graphics are really nice otherwise.

any suggestions for music in the grass area.
Here is a preview type thing of the third level in my hack.

There is layer 3 rain there, but i will redraw the rain. it's pretty hard to make.
Neutron's graphics are awesome, but broken stuff need antialiasing.
The level in the video is a bit flat for the first part and should have some non-linear stuff too. Finally, the pipe is too high in the cave area.
Also, the palette is iffy in the first arera.

Fix those minor imperfections ad your level should be fine, Yoshiguy978.

@Lexator: ah, looks amazing. I'm also glad someone finally made a port of Rainbow Road from the original Super Mario Kart.

@Neutron: ha, looks great. The cracks look fine now, the FG looks awesome, and the BG combo is cool.

Wow, that's a nice level you got there! Lemme' guess, the music is from Yoshi's Island when you are in a boss room but not fighting the boss itself?
