So long ago, SMWC Idol was held. It is with great honor that I bring this back. SMWC Idol is a music porting competition where the best song from each round is featured. Below is all the info needed.

Counterfeit put together a rather clean and polished website for this. LINK

Dotsarecool (Cool shades Judge)
Kristian (Dots' fanboy)
Ladida (Because 5 is greater than 4)
Round Summaries:
Round 1: Commands Challenge
- Create a port with a channel using p5,60 throughout, a channel with $ED $5C $A9 used throughout, and a channel with at least two pitch bends (use may fulfill more than one requirement on a channel)

awesome its back
fakeedit: i had to delete my entire post because of your audition change
but just to ask, are we expected to create the song? or do you want us to open a .txt file and port by ear? im sorry for being a dumbass here, but, i find these rules pretty vague (its obviously just me, but w/e).
anyways, after a quick search on what your requirements exactly mean, ill try to enter

Strangely enough, this might be the first contest on the history of this site that I'm actuaslly going to enter. I usually end up judging them.
Game on, Jimmy.

You're actually NOT allowed to compose your own song for the contest. You must use a song that already exists.
Also, I specifically didn't choose SNN or ST as judges because they deserve a chance to compete in this field.

It's a shame that I didn't hear about this ahead of time. I would've much preferred to judge, and probably wouldn't have wanted to enter anyway, but oh well.
Might submit something later I guess.
...aaaaaaaand there goes 4000.

I'm not going to enter because I'm not very good at porting, and even if I gave it my best effort, I wouldn't stand a chance. But I'd still like to listen to the SPCs. This should be interesting.

Apparently I should make this clear. The pitch bends must bend to a different note to count.

You know, it would be nice if anyone who can port decently enters. Remember that famous "Mystery Deeps" track we got out of the last Idol? I'd love to hear someone create something like that again.

I don't know how to port, but I too will be one enjoying the SPC's. Or maybe if its ear-rape, not enjoying. But you get the point.

Didn't a near-perfect version of the original Super Mario Bros. Overworld track win last time?

This is really interesting, I kinda remember of the last (and as I know the first) SMWC Idol. Since I can't port really well (yet) (man, I should work with that more), I don't think I will enter, but I'm really interested for the entries and such. I'm pretty sure some awesome stuff will come this year as well.

Submitted mine to the judges. Decided to go with one of my favorite tracks ever for this.
I do hope the competition will be fierce. Come on, Jimbo.
