I know it isn't movie theater quality, but I hope you enjoy it.
SMW Hack Discussion thread with more info coming most likely Monday!
...Oh, yeah, and I forgot to mention, I think TLMB said that the background used in the ice area was made by Broozer. I modified it a bit to fit the game's graphic style better. You've always been big on storylines in hacks - it sounds like this one is going to trump any of the Infinities though. I have to say though, I sure hope you know what you're doing when you pick a storyline that hits this close to home - either it can greatly enhance the gameplay, or totally bore the player to death. You'll need to have a pretty good balance of both story and gameplay here.
The actual content of the video looks pretty cool though. Most of the levels looks interesting, and none of the palettes are eye-searing (this was pretty common in the SMI series). I'll be keeping my eye on this - I'm curious as to how you'll pull off a hack with a story this deep.

Holy crap, the storyline. #w{ }
This is probably one of the best hacks I've seen yet. I can't wait to see future updates on this!

That was...so epic. One of the best trailers I've seen for a hack.
The levels showcased all look nice as well. I'm really looking forward to this!

wow.
thats quite the storyline you have going there.
just try to remember its a book, not an interactive novel, so dont put all the effort into the story.
the graphics are amazing as well.

This is one of the deepest and best developed storylines in a hack ever. But really, first, the speaking in the video surprised me, then the storyline saddened me, then, the whole trailer made me think. This is not only a hack, it's more like philosophy now. I'm sure the depressing mood, the philosophic storyline and fantastic story elements will get a lot of fans for this hack. I'm waiting for this, it's sure.

That trailer exudes seven types of awesome.
Hands down, that has to be the best SMW hack trailer I've seen. If it doesn't win the Best Trailer award, I'd be very surprised.
I look forward to delving into the storyline of this hack. Unlike many others, I do enjoy a nice story in SMW hacks. As for the levels, they look to be nicely put together. They look like a mix between your SMI hacks and RATSI.
Very impressive work!

BTW, what of the video will be in the hack, aside from that one VWF cutscene and the gameplay stuff?

Nice trailer!
Im not a fan of huge plots but this one has got me interested, mainly because of Luigi, I hope he gets into the story somehow!

Heh, thanks for the responses, everyone!
Most of your comments about the story and style will be explained when I create the Hack Discussion thread, but as for some specific questions...
Originally posted by JeRRy86BTW, what of the video will be in the hack, aside from that one VWF cutscene and the gameplay stuff?
Pretty much all of it:
•The narrator's speech throughout the trailer is a monologue you'll see at the start of the opening cutscene.
•The scenes showing Mario and Luigi and the attack on their ship, Mario's arrival on the island, the assault by the natives, and the mysterious note are also from the first cutscene.
•Mario's conversation with Wakasha takes place in one of the early levels.
•The "voices" Mario hears in his sleep are shown in a "rest area" in the game's second Area (think the Euphoria Festival in SMW2+3, except it's not quite as elaborate right now).
•The scene at the end of the trailer with Mario and Wakasha in the burning forest is from a point much further into the game.
The only things not directly shown in the game are the scenes showing the natives' fight against the Koopas and the natives in Wakasha's village near the beginning of the trailer. These are explained by Wakasha in the cutscene mentioned above.

He will. Luigi will end up playing a rather critical role when you get a bit further into the game. ;)

No, not actual voices in the game - the spoken scenes in the trailer just use the same words as the VWF cutscenes.

Oh, ok
Guess I misunderstood it. Would be cool if you were able to pull voices in-game off tho.

Just curious, but how did you get those voices in the trailer?
