Yeah there have been some pretty mild weeks this winter. Since I don't have heat this winter, I don't really mind.
And so ends another Super Bowl.

New York Giants win by 21-17 against the New England Patriots. Again.
I didn't want either team to be in the Super Bowl, though I was rooting more for the Giants since the Patriots are my second least favorite team in the league. (Only ahead of the Steelers.)
I'm actually really glad we didn't win because then I'd have to deal with drunken college students doing drunken college student things like screaming so loud I can hear them 14 floors high with my windows closed, causing riots to the sound of police sirens so loud I can hear them 14 floor high with my windows closed, and setting off fire alarms at 3 in the morning...for the sixth time in a week. This way New York gets to deal with all that instead of us. *evil grin*

I watched the Puppy Bowl.

I'm not a sports guy.
I had to listen to my neighbours screaming wildly for hours today while studying for a calculus midterm tomorrow. Needless to say, I didn't get any real studying done.

...I mean, I get how the Super Bowl is exciting for some people, but is it really necessary to scream at the top of your lungs every single time a pass is dropped or a touchdown is made?

I'm glad the Pats lost because the Ravens lost, even if Baltimore losing was largely their own fault.

Yes, I am still very disappointed with the events of that game.
As long as Tebow lost, I'll be happy.

I got sick of hardcore LAWD JESUS people saying he is awesome and shit.

otherwise i didn't give a fuck
I pretty much only care about the CFL. Even then it's really not that important to me compared to hockey. I watched the Grey Cup game between the BC Lions and I think it was Winnipeg? Anyways the Lions won so I was happy about that (You know since I live in the Vancouver area). I didn't really care who won the Superbowl so I didn't watch it.
I only care about sports during the FIFA World Cup. Other than that i don't give a buck.

But i was expecting the Giants to win anyways.

Had to read that twice ("why the heck would they scream while studying?"), but yeah, that must have sucked. That's why one day I'd like to live in a more... remote area than that.

As for the Super Bowl, I neither know nor give a shit about it. Pretty much like Neutron, the only time where I get mildly excited about sports is during soccer world cups (the European championship too, to an even lesser extent).

Calculus is obviously just that horrifying.

Pretty much this.

I'd much rather see puppies playing on a small field for a couple hours than a bunch of guys in spandex killing eachother over a ball made of dead pig skin any day.

I guess it all depends on the level of interest. I mean I can somewhat relate since I'm a hockey fan. I do make the ocasional groan and shouts of goals when my team either scores or almost does (world juniors being a good example of that with Canada's almost comeback). If it's for key plays to tie up or to take a lead, then I can understand, but, if it's for every goal than that's going a little far. That's just my two cents though.

And I never did end up watching the superbowl myself. My residence put on quite the show to support the event, but I never partook. I ended up studying on the far side of campus for my midterms this week.
Posting from my new iPad 2!

Gotta love tuition rebates and an inexpensive semester.

I think it was mostly the alcohol, because they were literally screaming like, every 20 seconds. Even their talking was abnormally high on the decibel scale.

In other news, mother of God calculus can go die.

But calculus gets better at the end, S.N.N.. Right now they just want you to learn how to do it the olden ways. Afterwards comes the cool tricks that mind blow you away.

In other news, I lost a bet yesterday.

You know, I'm starting to get the feeling you don't care much for calculus.

Anyway, maybe it's just me being ignorant, but I'm surprised that American football is popular enough in Canada to warrant that kind of reaction. I mean, to me that would be like if students here were going nuts over the World Cup or something. Well, you learn something new every day, right?

Also I really need to change my avatar. Christmas ended more than a month ago.

I kinda know how you feel, even though you're probably beyond what I've been learning. I'm in an AP Calculus class right now, and second semester has just sucked so much when it comes to the material. Logistical differential equations make me hate life, and I know this stuff is just gonna get worse.

Also, I went to a Super Bowl party on Sunday. My friend is the biggest Patriots fan. While the rest of us were screwing around and playing pool during the game, he was so nervous. He just left after the last play, it was pretty funny.
Next football season should be good. Hopefully the Saints can get their act together on defense and get a Super Bowl at home.
