Music Port Insert Problem

I have tried to port another song but I always get the line 1 syntax error. http://bin.smwcentral.net/21184/smithy.txt That is the file I'm trying to insert. http://bin.smwcentral.net/21466/24.txt This is a file I tried porting and got it to insert after I got someone to fix it. Any reason why the second one inserts and the first one doesn't?
Try removing the #0 before the tempo.
I got the same error...
Expand your rom some more or loop this so the insert isn't so big.
I didn't try looping the second song but I tried looping it with this one: http://bin.smwcentral.net/21512/26.txt
its probably an octave error as when i inserted it with romis, thats what came up rather then a syntax error the first time i tried to fix your port

EDIT: this is just a guess, but 24.txt is probably that rustboro one i told you wasnt fixed to sound great, right?

When I tried inserting it with romi's it would just say 'can't open file' or something like that. Also, how would I fix the octaves?
what did you do to try and insert it with romis?
whats the txt named, what did you put in the ini, and of all course, what did you put in cmd which should be pasted to the addmusic folder?

EDIT: make sure you dont use 2 addmusics on the same rom

. the txt is named Smithy
. I typed Smithy.txt next to where it says 20= in the ini
. When I open cmd I typed addmusic.exe and the addmusic.exe SMW.smc

Now I get an error saying 591: music interval is to low
raise that octave, then, be it by the octave command ox (x is 1-6)
or with a > or <.
btw, use that rom for testing the music and then just insert with the other if thats how you wanna do it unless you decide to stick to romis.
Do I place the ox at the start of each channel.
i like to mske the x 3, but try it, it does influence it as the end octave of a channel becomes the start octave for the next channel
Yeah those octaves are waaaay to low. It goes no higher than 4 when most instruments can go as high as 6. I'd raise this entire port at least one octave if not 2. The easy way to do this is to use Superyoshi's music utilities and use his octave changer...
I've tried going to that site but it just takes me to a page with a random ad on it.
i guess word that superyoshis site was down since like near the end of the last month i think never got out.#w{x(}
i guess the music porting tool is the next best thing until you learn to do these all manually.
mml editing tool works too, but i wouldnt use it for octave dropping.
Well it's quite simple to raise your octives. These are all the SMW compatable octives:
o1 (Not all instruments)
o2
o3
o4
o5
o6 (Not all instruments (but most))

You can manually put this piece up by 1 octave by changing for example:

Code
o3

to

Code
o4

and so on. Just do this to all of the 'o' marks. As for channels that start without the 'o' marks, I guess you'll have to hazard a guess at these unless you load the original midi into a program like FL Studio which will tell you what octave that everything's in.
I tried raising the octaves up 1 each but I got the same error.
when you get an error, raise the octave on THAT line only and keep it up till it works. ( by this i mean once the errors gone, move to the next )
I tried every octave on the first one and I got the same error each time.
did you check to see if there was another o1,2,3,4,5, or 6 somewere else in that line?
