So, its been a long time and I really thought this prosject was even more than dead, but hey, this is like my thing hack-wise. So I brought it up again recently and finished up stage 3... about 16 months after I started the prosject... lazy me heh.
Stage 3 - Move up! *click the image*
So yep, still using Jimmy's YI music. I changed the colors in this level a bit, the BG was originaly red/green and the FG was a bit more blue'ish. Well, the gimmick is simple; bouche on things.
I have never seen this thread before, but man am I glad I did today, this is so awesome! I just do not know what to say haha, great GFX replacement, great character replacement, I love the level design, damn this is a great looking hack =D Great work! Also Yoshi's Island music is the boss haha. Great level select screen too =)
Glad to see that you're hacking again. I've always liked this hack, though I've never commented. I really like that level, but I feel that the blocks with the fuzzy faces look like they could be hopped on. I'm not sure what you could do change it, but it looks really good as it is, anyways. Keep up the good work!

Anyway, I really like the original concept and the GFX fit everything nicely! I'm looking forward to seeing more updates!
The new level you posted looks great and plays well too, the only thing I weren't too keen on was the end of the level, it seemed a little odd how you had to get to the top then literally jump to the bottom to finish it, other than that, I really liked it!
(well, like a few other people I didn't noticed this thread until now so...)
I must say the concept is really creative, I just love the idea of a block that faces block-like enemies!
You did a great job with the player GFX and with the sprites GFX as well.

Hi people Been a long time since last update, as usual. Well, I got a pretty major update this time... thing is, I've just restarted the whole damn thing. First I made some new GFX in a new art style, the Yoshi's Island one. Then I tought of just switching the GFX in the old levels, but there wasn't enough motivation for that, so I just decided to ditch dat old prosject and start over again. The concept is so far pretty much the same, if there ever was a concept to this. Well, I really don't know what to say more about this, lets just compare the old prosject to the new one...
The first image is from the old hack, the second is from the new one. As you can see, All GFX has bold outlines. I've changed the player GFX a bit too, its kinda more original in that way. The clouds and stars are exanimated, something you can see in...
Woah! That's AMAZING!
The new turnblock looks awesome, and I love his jumping animation. All the graphics look SUPERB, especially the background. I also looove that scrolling pipe enemy block, it's really creative. I'm sure you will turn this into a fantastic hack.
Also, might be my own opinion, but the dirt color could use a little more brown. It looks a little to yellow, if you ask me. And will you release that old grassland set someday? I still think that looks lovely.
