Rules as of 3-12-2012
As of late, the problem in this forum is not with rule-breaking threads, but more so redundant threads. Here are some guidelines that will be enforced as of this post:
1. Ask before making a new "Post your *insert console/game* code" thread. If you want to find someone to play with online, check here first, or look in the thread for that game and check the profiles and signatures of the people who posted there. With new consoles and games coming out all the time, it would create tons of clutter to have a thread for each ID system. If you really feel there is a need for a new thread, or someone else would like to be in charge of updating an existing thread, PM me and something can be arranged.
2. We only need one thread for each series. Exceptions can be made for spinoff series, like Paper Mario, for new releases of major franchises, and for existing threads that already have many posts. If you want to talk about favorite characters, glitches, and whatever, keep it in the general thread for that series!
Don't forget that many posts can go in these threads as well:
Game Help Thread
Game Idea Thread
"What are you playing?" Thread
Game Recommendation Thread
3. If a general thread for the game you want to talk about doesn't exist, then start one! If you had a specific thing in the series that you wanted to talk about, use it as a discussion starter, but not for the thread name.
Thread title: Let's talk about Pokemon!
Everyone talk about Pokemon here. To start us off, who's your favorite gym leader?
is better than:
Thread title: Favorite Gym Leader?
Who's your favorite Pokemon gym leader?
Common sense says that all the other existing forum rules apply. Let's try to keep all our threads useful from now on!

Updated rules somewhat, but what you should notice is the drastic change to this forum's stickied threads. The Arcade combines the functions of a few threads, and the code threads have been destickied and replaced with a stickied Index (continue posting in those threads, or PMing the owners as before).
