| Tip: Keep track of ALL patches and hex edits in case you need to transfer your data to a new ROM. It's definitely worth the trouble. |

There was a lot of enthusiasm for this project when I showed it off over the IRC, so now that the forums are back, I can show it off more widely!

Yep, I made an editor for custom score sprites. Since all score sprites so a set series of things, there is no need to code separate routines for each sprite, so you can just edit the tables via this tool interface.
There is no support for editing the existing score sprites, mostly because of the sketchy way the routines and tables were coded in the original SMW.
Oh, you want a download link, right? Here you go. Keep in mind that this is only a beta, and a result, I would like some people to try it out so I can know it works under all circumstances.
Known bugs:
-Tool will not prompt for save upon switching ROMs
-When prompting for save during tool closure, it will display sprite numbers twenty too low.

Does this include any asm hacks or does it just mess with the tables?

Yes, it includes some hacks. The existing tables only go up so far, so I had to make new ones. Also, not all the required routines are run for all score sprites, (ex: score-giving sprites don't add lives) so I had to hijack for that, too.
If I can get enough people to say so, I might release the source for this. (ASM, not C#. All my C# is a mess.)

Pretty cool stuff. How much of the sprite routine did you reprogram- I.E. Compatibility issues?
In any case, nice job, it looks great.

I would be curious to see the asm... honestly I also would like to see the tool output as a asm patch too, since most of my patches are in asm form so I can batch-patch a bunch of them and turn them off one by one without restarting my rom

There are only five short hijacks to the score sprite routines and some automatically found freespace with a RATS tag, and since there hasn't really been any work done in the field of score sprites, there should be any compatibility issues.

Oh, that's why you want the source to it, KZ. Sure, then. If I can just find it...
Ah, here it is.

LOOKOUTITSANINVADER? You wacky guy you.
Anyway thanks. Although I just use normal score sprites right now, this will be really handy if I ever make a exp system.
BTW: Regarding the tool it's self, it might be nice to hae a tile chooser, but that may be hard to do...
