I'm finally back at my computer and able to hack, so even though I don't have much new stuff to show off, I thought I'd take the opportunity to make a thread in the new subforum and show some videos!
First off, a video of level one, now with custom palettes:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/D9kWc6HSSzE?fs=1&hl=en_US&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/D9kWc6HSSzE?fs=1&hl=en_US&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Now level two with custom palettes and an extended level:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/adyOaHkWWFQ?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/adyOaHkWWFQ?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
And a completely new level, though lacking in the custom palettes department. I'm working on it:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Yai29lCuvdA?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Yai29lCuvdA?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Please note that all music is temporary.
Finally, though the OW is still a big work in progress, I thought I'd show a screenshot of it:

Also, in case anyone wants it: link to old thread.

Just watched your videos, so here is some feedback.
1st level:
I thought the level was well designed overall, and has a good palette. But I think the gray p-switch at 0:50 allows you to get too many 1-ups, too easily IMO. Perhaps it could be placed in a less crowded area?
2nd level:
I also think this level is well designed, and has good palette choices. I like the fake ground used later on. But again I think that it's a bit easy to get 1-ups here too (at the beginning using the shell, and the star section.).
Puzzle Zone 1:
Excellent level design, I can't find any problems with it at all.
Your overworld looks ok so far, but I think it could do with some more decoration.
Overall, it's looking great so far, keep it up.

Level 1:
PALLETE.
The foreground is green, but the background is... Red?
Level 2:
PALLETE.
The forground is read, the background is blue?
Also I think you're giving the player too many lives.

Thanks for all the feedback!
I like the palettes, so I'm not going to change them, at least not much. Heck, it's mario. Things don't need to make sense.
Anyway, I do agree that I was allowing the player to get too many 1-ups, so I've fixed those sections, though the videos haven't (and will not) been updated.
As for new content, I just have this one level:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cQNA0iFFgKU?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cQNA0iFFgKU?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
I know there's a lot of lag around 2:13, I'm working on that. Please give feedback!

Looks like a fun level, it's rather well designed. I especially like the first section on the line-guided platforms. Good work.
I think the lag at 2:13 happens because of the amount of pirahna plants on screen at once in that area. Perhaps if you could remove some of them, it might get rid of the lag.

Or apply Fastrom.

That name is really unoriginal and was used many times before.

Here's my thoughts on what I've seen for your hack:
First video:
For some reason i get this feeling that is is a remake of Donut Plains 1, this is a remake, so i hold nothing against that. I do got to say though, it looks a little werid seeing the question blocks with a Brick background behind the question. overall, the level felt average.
Second video:
because it called "Remake" i am assuming that you are remaking the original levels, and i would guess this is a remake of Yoshi's island 2 (the Level of course, not the game). At the part when you fall through the ground was unexpected, but looks sort of weird while falling through it. and the wall of ground tiles behind you also seems a little weird too. like last time, average gameplay.
Third video:
I loved the puzzle, it seemed very creative and provided good difficulty. I truly have no problems with this level.
OW:
as you said, it's a big work in progress.
Fourth video:
for the line-guided part, I just don't normally find these interesting. I'm not saying it's bad though, it's alright as far as these things go.
for the second part (first half of it)
Floating-slowly rotating-throwing stars= LOLWUT, alright level design, feels empty of sprites though.
(Second half & third part)
...ehh...
In the end:
I like where this hack is going. I do not have any problems with the palettes, they don't have to make sense, as long as the go though smoothly, in which you have done well. You might want to add some patches like fastrom (or the better virsion of it). I do feel that some of the levels are incomplete though.
If you need help on making some levels or an OW, i would be glad to help. Because as i said before, I see some good potential in this hack

Yay, update! This update brings two new videos. First, the Yellow Switch Palace:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/loAYFSm3kiw?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/loAYFSm3kiw?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
I really like this level. The message will be changed, as noted by the annotation. Also, the palette will be changed.
Next up is a new level:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/N_T3gUYeZa4?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/N_T3gUYeZa4?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
I'm not truly satisfied with this level. I'm still working on it.
Now to answer questions:
@Mr ESC450 and mszegedy
I knew what was causing the lag, I just didn't know what to do about it. I have now applied FastROM, and it runs much smoother now.
@leod
The name may change, I really don't know what I want to call it yet, but I'll think about it more once I get more of the game together.
@losall
I agree that some levels could still use some work. I may go back and "upgrade" some of them later, once I get more experienced with level editing. Keep in mind though, that this is still world one, so they won't be hard.

You're giving 1ups away like baby girls in China. SMG2 wasn't even that generous.

I've said this before, I've fixed those instances where you could get tons of 1-ups.

BIG UPDATE!
Sorry for the double post, but I thought that this was big enough for a bump. SMW: Remix - Demo 1 has finally been submitted! Check it out here.
It has 16 exits total, so try to find 'em all!
EDIT: Could someone please POST? I really don't want to triple post...

My first triple post. Oof.
Anyway, after a long break (stupid school), it's time for a big update! Not only has SMW: Remix been approved (you can download v1.1 here), I have three new videos!
These are the final three normal levels in the underground world. First up is Down Under:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FH1QwVuLaD4?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FH1QwVuLaD4?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Next is a underground level with castle sprites, the Secret Stronghold:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Dh-iqExcltQ?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Dh-iqExcltQ?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
And finally, Down and Out:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jmXyINkXbP8?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jmXyINkXbP8?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
These levels still need palette work, but the main design is done. Give feedback!
Oh, and special thanks to ApolloX18 for writing the first review on the Demo 1.1 page! Thanks for the good review, and I'll be taking your ideas into consideration.
