Quick review of the first video:

+ Awesome presents logo =o
- The L in the pipe font looks different from the rest.
+ Intro level is changed into something nifty, yet not too cluttered
- "its" in the intro message should be "it's"
+ I like how you redesigned Yoshis house
- "Theres" should be "There are" in the yoshis house message, and no "-" between "to" and "find". Also way too many commas...
+ The Yoshi House tile has been edited on the OW too =o
+ "o_o"
+ Statusbar has a very nice feeling to it
- The white numbers(star counter) looks out of place
+ Enemies have new graphics
- Baseball flower is somewhat small
- You get shot out of thin air...
- Eating block forces you to wait a long while before being able to continue
+ Level end looks awesome
(skipping golden coin palace)
+ Fire Chuck
- Giving away one of the secrets of Yoshis house(or whatever it's called here =P)
- You need to have yoshi to go through the locked door, yet you lose him if you do
- The palette of those lava dragon thingies needs some work
- You must have big mario to get through here

Visually, you've created something very appealing in this hack, and I would encourage you to keep up with this very modern SMW style, and to continue to find different ways to make the foreground and background pleasing to the eye.

Is awesome i like it, bug the mushroom is weird, and also the redraw yoshi, i don't like him very much, but you're using a redraw mario, so it's really cool, keep going.

I wonder why many graphics in the first level reminded me of ASMT/A2MT.

Well, Its been a little bit since I actually SHOWED anything, so here is a Custom Boss. DARK STAR

The GFX were Ripped by me.

It has 11 hp.

Full: Doesnt do anything until you hit it.
10-8: Floats around in the ar dropping Sumo lightning
7-6: The screen gets Darker
5: 2 Mushrooms drop
4-3: Screen gets even darker
2-1: Starts chasing you
0: Screen gets back to normal, stops dropping lightning, still chasing you. A jump to the head beats him.

Now, obviously the Arena is still a WIP, as it will most definetly have ExGFX and a fancy-pants Background.

Please, tell me whatcha think.

this is an awesome boss, REALLY cool, i have almost 3 years of SMW hack, and i didn't even learn how to do that, congratulations.
The way the boss works is very impressive - it's definitely one of the more advanced uses of the newbie custom boss sprite - but there are a few problems I have with it. First, the background music is very unfitting: it's not nearly intense enough for a boss theme. Second, I really don't like the way the screen-darkening effect works. It just suddenly "snaps" into a darker version of the arena. If you can, find a way for the screen to darken gradually instead of immediately, and find a way for it to not affect the status bar.
The actual story-line of this, is that he is in a space station and draining all of its power, which is why it just suddenly SNAPS. I really dont like it all that much either... but you cant do much with only 2 darkness settings. Meh. I guess I'll get rid of it.

I will post a vid of the final (READ: Final before I get to it) Version of it.

(15 minutes later) Man fixing those tags is a pain in the butt.


So.

Still has 12 hp

Phase 1: Doesnt do anything, slowly inches away from you.
Phase 2: Bounces back and forth dropping Sumo Bro. flames
Phase 3: Randomly turns around
phase 4: Follows you
Phase 5: Chases you

It took a-while to get it perfected, but tis finally done!


*This boss is subject to change at ANY time. I usually create bosses when I'm stuck at an idea for a level.
Now it's really better, i like the BG pallete animation, is good, good boss.

You are wrong, i like it aswell.
Though you may want to ove the walls up by one tile as you can spin jump through the floor.
to the 2 or 3 people who ACTUALLY follow this thread....

so. progress is going kinda slow, what with school in and all. not to mention the homework, I have an actual life ((NO WAI!)not that you all dont have lives too) to deal with too. Another thing stopping me from continuing is the fact that im kindve running out of ideas.

anyways, Im currently at my cousins house when typing this (I get dropped off here every day after school) so I cant show you guys anything, however I have some to tell you.


I'm currently re-doing the world 1 levels. So far I've done chuck mines and The first level. Yeah. So progress is pretty slow.

I also want your guys opinion on whether or not I should keep the world 1 boss, make a custom boss for it, o make a simple-ish custom boss and still keep the same theme. (Boss is under the giant hammer)
