I having Problem with Smallhacker's Xkas Separate Luigi Patch and HuFlungDu's Separate Luigi patch for my hack, because I do the right thing with the freespace, but it crashed my rom I NEED HELP, i don't know how to set these things right.
Are you sure you did the right thing with the freespace? Mine I know needs 3 seperate freespace addresses, which is usually the problem, and smallhacker's needs 2, which you are going to want to point to the beginning of a bank (xx8000 or so). Also, if you used xkas GUI's freespace finding feature, stop, it doesn't work and just breaks the ROM. If you don't know how to get freespace, just use slogger.
Which one is the freespace for mario gfx and freespace for luigi gfx.
In mine first one is for Mario's GFX, second is for Luigi's GFX, third is for code. In Smallhacker's, First is code+Mario's GFX, second is Luigi's GFX.
I Put in code but Luigi the Second Player is still in Mario's GFX how to set this to be Luigi's GFX.
Are you using Smallhacker's patch or mine? Smallhacker has said on numerous occasions that his is broken, doing basically that exact thing, so you may want to use mine.

If you are using mine: I don't know what would cause that really except if your Mario.bin and your Luigi.bin contain the same GFX.
I'm Using Yours HuFlungDu.
Well, can you upload the version of the patch you are inserting so I can see if you screwed up freespace or anything?
Did you use any other patches and stuff prior to patching the Separate Luigi GFX patch (either HungFlungDu's or Smallhacker's)?

I could be wrong, but I think it has to be patched to a clean rom first. That's how I got it working, myself.

Well, the last time I had to transfer things between two SMW roms (one of which a previous copy of my hack, and the other an unmodified rom of SMW) to get something else to work (basically, transferring the OV maps, the custom blocks, custom sprites, etc.), I patched the Separate Luigi GFX patch to the unmodified rom before putting anything else back in. Reason is, when I first heard of this patch, I wasn't able to use it without transferring everything to a new rom (on the other hand, when you transfer things from one rom to another, if you made any changes to the rom via hex editor from the ROM map, you have to re-make those changes in the newer rom).

IIRC, the patch is in asm format, so I used xkas to patch it.

Anyway, I hope that helped.
