Thanks!

Bump.

World 2-3 video. A rather straightforward level, which is the thing I was aiming to do.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RyeYZB0ZYTk?fs=1&hl=es_ES"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RyeYZB0ZYTk?fs=1&hl=es_ES" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Overworld update:

Don't mind the two random red water lines; I'll fill them later. I think I'll tweak the palletes of the whole overworld...

Also I decided on a world order:

---

Vanilla
|
Forest -> Water (optional) -> Underground (see below)
|
Desert
|
Underground
|
(there will be a mountain path with 3 levels here)
Ice
|
Sky
|
Bowser/Lava
|
SEEKRIT

---

I hope that made sense. :v

This hack is looking great! I see you've added a walljump patch. That was a nice touch. #w{=D}
Looks awesome, good job ;)
Very good with the levels. Can't wait till the next demo. Keep it up.
Thanks everyone!

I've decided to upload videos from now on to show levels; but I'll show less levels as a result. Right now I have to finish 3 more levels and I'll release a new demo!

Anyway, video of world 2-A. This is the first vertical level of the hack.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gmAgv0WvqOk?fs=1&hl=es_ES"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gmAgv0WvqOk?fs=1&hl=es_ES" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Wow! I was wondering if you were going to pick back up on this awesome hack, and I'm glad you did! It looks great. Just PM me if you want me to beta test again, I'd be glad to!
Very nice! However, to make it better you could: Make the light from the door in the interior of the tree slightly darker. Or make the outside BG less plain by using a gradient.

Thanks, and of course.

Made the first, but believe me when I say this: I can't make that bg better. I tried a custom bg to add some branches to the tree but the pallete interfered with the status bar horribly, and I'm using fake HDMA gradients so it looks... odd in a vertical scrolling level. I also think the bg is too plain but I can't do much about it. ;_;

School is keeping me busy and whatnot, but I'm still working on this. To not make this post completely pointless here is a preview of a level I just began making:

Any suggestions for the fg pallete? Brown palletes are not my forte. =S Oh, the purple water is poisonous. I'll change the graphics for it though.

I think I'll delay this, but if there's a date you would expect a new demo of this it'll be C3 for sure.
If you send me the .mwl I could make a palette for it for you, and send you the .pal/.tpl file. I'm generally pretty good at palettes if I have a general idea.
Bump for epic justice.

HAI GAIZ I R ALIVE

I'm still working on this hack, but RL has kept me extremely busy so I couldn't finish the second demo for C3 like I was expecting. Regardless, I want to take my time to do this instead of making mediocre, rushed levels.

Anyways, this is to show that this hack is still alive! Here are some updates:

First off, a video showing the newest level I made aka new World 2-3 (I'm still using the other one, tho):

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Q3OGw4qEStE?fs=1&hl=es_ES"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Q3OGw4qEStE?fs=1&hl=es_ES" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
Note the new Mario pallete. I think I'll add animated stars on the bg but this level has a plethora of GFX already.

New title screen! I made the 'NUEVO' from a scratch. I'm not the best pixel artist ever so I'm fairly pleased with the result.

New bounce block graphics. Obviously inspired in the NSMBW ones.

Level 2-1 has a new bg!

Presenting P signs! They serve to mark the spot where you should use a P-switch.

There were some other updates but they are a bit minor to show. As of now I'm working on the unfinished level I showed on my last post here and progress is good. I'm thinking about adding those VWF dialogues, but I'm not sure since this hack doesn't have an in-depth plot... yet. *insert evil laugh here* Ahem, thus it doesn't require much text. Anyways expect more updates in the next days!
Nice stuff. The new forest background is nice and I love the bounce blocks.

I don't know about the moon background... I've always thought static backgrounds felt odd(even if a repeating moon bg would look odd), maybe you can apply a patch to make it move slow? Otherwise, I love the level :)
The background is awesome. Only thing is your moon is too big. Make it about 3/4 of the current size.
I got to say this is looking good. Also I think it is World 2-1. It is kind of like one of the levels in Brutal Mario but somewhat diffrent. It's just the level idea that makes me think it is almost the same. So this is looking good. I also like the NSMBW bounce block and the Nuevo in the title screen. So I wish you luck with this hack. I can't wait for the full game.
Your Hack is getting better and better,
I really like your Hack,
and I'm looking forward to see more from your Hack.

I've got to say, this look really good. The levels seem great and so does the Overworld.
I'm loving the title screen and the bounce block graphics. The "P" Signs are also a nice touch.
Dude, this looks AWESOME for a second hack. The level design looks great and the graphics don't clash. Good Job #w{=D}
Player your hack and visited your channel - just epic. Can't wait for the next demo. #w{=P}
Will you continue? I didn't saw you a looooooong time now....
I hope you don't mind, DragonLX if I say this.
Anyway, I asked him how this hack is coming along on his YouTube channel and he replied:
"That's a surprise mostly, but trust me, it's going slowly but surely. Currently I'm finishing the new base ROM and I've basically remade all World 1 levels. World 2 is being remade too, but not as through-out as World 1. But thanks for asking! This really gives me the motivation to keep working on it because somebody cares about it. :P "

I then asked, basically, how long the hack will be:
"It will depend on the mood and how quickly I wish to finish it, but on average there will 5-7 levels per world. I'm expecting 70+ exits when I'm done."
Only the images already looks like a nice hack!
