Tip: Test your levels as all forms of Mario (small, super, fire, cape). If it's possible to enter a level with Yoshi, make sure to test that as well.

Ok, the new snapshot just did something I have been wanting forever. Upsidedown stairs.

Also creepy testicle face iron golems, thats cool too.
I sort of think the iron golem is a little too overpowered - perhaps decrease its attack strength versus players?
To be fair, like zombie pigmen, it's your own fault if you get slaughtered by one since it's a neutral mob. Also bare in mind that they have to defend against waves of zombies. They're also very slow and easy to get in a combo attack.

tl;dr I don't think they're overpowered.
Minecraft Version 1.2.2 was released. Be sure to backup your worlds.

Changelog and info

Also, an updated launcher has been released.
Gah, jungle biomes and double world heights are lagging the crap outta me. Optifine 1.2 better perform miracles. I don't want to have to wait till I get my desktop to play.
I will definitely NOT be able to play until my laptop gets back to me. But this update looks pretty awesome, and it might bring me back into the game (I have been thinking of some awesome things to do with this new stuff).
Hurrah! 1.2.2 is out! I made a trailer thing, or sumpthing. If you wanna check it out.

I'm actually getting improved performance from 1.1, I'd say even at par with 1.1w/optifine for me. I didn't play 1.2.2, only 1.2.3, so maybe jeb fixed the performance issues?
That wasn't listed on the changelogs, I think, unless it was under bugfixes.
Optifine really helps for minecraft 1.2.2 lag. Without optifine I wasn't able to play minecraft without lag each second. It really helped.
Speaking of optifine for 1.2.3, it still has a few... kinks... I recently had a bad experience with a world I spawned running optifine with chunk loading settings on 1 (slowest chunk loading, fastest speed). Basically, the chunk loading when spawning a new world has to go at a minimum speed to avoid bad things happening. Optifine caused it to go slower than the required speed causing this world to be spawned. Don't worry. It's a normal 1.2.3 world that won't fuck up anything. Sorry it's rapidshare'd, dropbox was being a douchebag.
Yeah, I find that iron Golems are a little overpowerd. It's just a bit too strong. It needs less attacking power or less HP.

Or you could just stop attacking the peaceful iron golems.
But one wrong click and you're in the stratosphere (and your health is in the dirt).

Anyway, I just installed my standard modpack: Optifine, ControlPack, SPC, and NotEnoughItems. <3
Tintin references anyone? Yeah, I'm planning on building the pirate ship in the middle of the desert in Minecraft, inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword's 5th dungeon, the Sandship.

Actually they're freakishly slow mobs. Easy to get away from and easy to constantly attack without retaliation.
Okay, I concede you that.

Also, screw sequential pistons.
i stopped playing MC when I saw all these giant awesome buildings on youtube. I don't have that much time to build these monsters, but anyways I just like to play it with oner or two partners on a server.

We normally just play Player vs player maps on the site's server now, and when we're not, we're making things that are intended to destroy those buildings...

...Oh, and we make our own maps as well

nice nice ! There are also very nice games on minecraft. For example you build an closed area with dirt on the ground and under that dirt is just lava. now you put 3-4 players in that area and they have to take away the dirt from the floor. So there will be less and less place for each dirt tile which has taken away and the last one who doesn't fall into the lava wins ;)
sry for bad english again
